Rating the entire series. Solid 3.5 stars. Strong female characters and a lead character that is likable as she evolves. Good monster and story line. Solid ending.
amazing!Cannot wait for book four! The cliffhanger end - noo! Callan and London have shared more secrets with each other, but there are still some pretty big questions hanging out there to be answered. Amazing job Annabel!
Very good but I now have to wait until February to read the final installment. Major props to Annabel Chase for writing yet another book that left me wanting more. The sign of a fantastic author is when they write a story so engrossing it captivates you until the end and leaves you wanting more. She never fails to deliver. I love these more serious books as much as I love her lighter hearted cozy mysteries. Another 5 star read.
An amazing and original PNR Series! Unputdownable!I am so happy I stumbled upon this series. It is a PNR story, that has a kick-ass h, who is witty, fierce, independent and smart. Then add an H who is hot, likable, fierce and strong, as well as second characters that compliment the story so well, and we have a heck of a series worth devouring :-) Lots of action, a slow burn romance and so much more! A gem in the KU world of books! Highly Recommended
2.5 stars, but I'll round it up.FMC keeps developing more abilities to conveniently handle every situation as it comes up. And I was irritated that when the MMC shares all his secrets with her, she shares nothing with him. It just makes her feel... I don't know. Cold, and entitled. Like no one is worthy of the stuff she's keeping secret. The series is alright. A bit cookie cutter, and I don't feel like I'm really engaged, probably because I'm not sure that I like the FMC, and I don't know much ab...
This one was not my cup of tea and left me terribly confused. The tempo for this series has barely been set and It seemed to have gone off the deep end before time. The heroine seems to have fallen in love but I'm not sure when or how. The hero just always seemed to show up with no prior reasoning, the lack of chemistry and tension in the series was so lackluster. The series was gearing up for a nice sweet flow and the temp wasn't too bad. It just fell apart during the middle towards the end. I d...
things are getting intense Okay 3.5 for me. I liked this one. Her thing with Callen was good just like in the other books. Better, even. It’s a weird thing where it’s really GOOD and it’s not even the main point, which freaks me out because how can something that isn’t even the main topic somehow be so good?? Anyway…The author has a way with humor and banter between the two. I adore her fellow knights. Her group of rescues are cute but they’re not as shiny as another group from a different serie...
Deadly Knight is Book 3 in the Midnight Empire: The Tower by Annabel Chase. This is Urban Fantasy AT ITS BEST!!!!I am obsessed with this EPIC ADVENTURE Urban Fantasy series set in the future.Super Volcanoes with ash going everywhere. Vampires, witches, all kinds of magical creatures are coming out to play with no sun left due to the ash. Vampires are ruling the world and humans must supply them their food, aka blood. I absolutely LOVE London, our kick butt heroine, whose big secret is half witch
At first, I did not skip this book because... knights? What? But then my KU offered it to my again and I said to myself I can try it. And I did not regret this decision! The series is goooood. London is a strong character that need no man. She is cool. She is a great fighter. She is a brave detective. She is a gentle soul that would rather be a vegetarian than to hurt an animal. She is also full of secrets and mystery power. The plot of every book was also great. True detective story. Some of th...
Still entertaining but lacking any depth. The third book in the “Midnight Empire” series picks up right where the second book ended. London faces new challenges and continues on her quest to find the missing stones. Lots of action and adventure mixed in with our heroine’s wonderful sense of humour. The plot just lacks depth. I would really like to see more character development and substantial interaction between London and Callan. There is a romantic attachment there but, it is difficult to fin...
London has a ton on her plate! London and the reader get a better idea of what, exactly, it is she is searching for, while she has to balance her own personal safety and backstory... which also gets some important revelations of its own! And that ending is a brutal one to wait on. It is nice, however, to finally get a glimpse of some of the main players who have been referenced in previous books but not yet seen... until now. I eagerly await the fourth book!
goodI could not wait for this book to come out and it definitely did not disappoint. London is definitely on some interesting quests in this book. You learn more about the relationship between London and her vampire and also whether or not London is going to reveal her heritage to anyone. She also learns who her father is. This book ended up with quite a cliffhanger but I can’t wait to read the next book in the series.
