Great suspense, but I found the ending to be a bit to wacky.
A waist of time. Some scenes and people reflecting harsh reality. But completely losing its worth in the flow of the storyline The subsequent moments and situations the protagonist miraculously survives, almost ridicule the story and the reader.
Absorbing
It's more like 3,6 actually.
BRILLIANT
Not happy how it nded, but a very good book indeed!! Never knew what was gonna happen next and the medical side of it was awesome as well
Who am I?For the hero of Jean-Christophe Granger's book, the question is not idle, not rhetorical or even existential, but the most pressing. When this strange patient arrives at the clinic where he works, the doctor is not yet inclined to think about the nature of his inescapable loneliness and, in fact, the little logic of moving from Paris to Bordeaux. That is, he remembers why he was here: he failed to resist the destructive passion for the patient, as sexually attractive as perversely viciou...
4 stars!Jean-Christophe Grangé is a very interesting author and I have already read quite a few of his books. The phenomenon is that I either completely love them or just can't wrap my head around the happening. Luckily, Le Passager was a very good read - I would say my second favourite book of Grangé, right after La forêt des Mânes. The only aspect I could criticize is that the story was a little stretched at some points, it could have moved a little faster. Still 750 pages of great story telli...
I enjoyed it. It was unrealistic in some places but it didn't turn me off a bit.
Unnecessarily long....
Well, eventually I will have to learn my lesson about reading annotations before choosing a book and not relying on dubious lists like "100 best detective stories of all time". Otherwise I will end up with a book like this again that I'd rather not.The author tried to place readers in a maze of unraveling fake personalities of the protagonist who is searching for his true self and solving murders along the way. If the person is deprived of all his memories, can we say that the same person still
This book 5/5 for me which are very long and great mysterious adventure, you imagine story like a real that was fantastic. This is my 2nd Grange's book and never disappointed, i will continue his other books. Masterpiece.
Absolutely brilliant and gripping from the very beginning till the end. Loved it!
Wow that was shite. Irrational characters. God that cop woman was annoying! I didn't believe it at first but that's the worst Grangé I've ever read. And I admit I flicked through big bits of the book cause it was boring and I didn't care and the writing was... I'm not sure if it was the German translation that was so messed up but I was mostly annoyed though the book. I haven't given up on the author yet completely, but that was a major FAIL.
Really?! All of that s.ht happened for this! Come on, I honestly thought you were better than that Grangé... And the book was sooo long too! All of that built-up for this ending? Again, really?? Even my theories were better. I'm a huge fan of Grangé's books but I'm disappointed, big time. I'm not even gonna try to write a long review for this book. But let me just say this, good start, long chapters -too long-, baaaaddd ending. The worst. İf you never read a Grangé book before don't start with t...
This is the Grange book that evoked most complicated feelings in me. One one hand, it has a brilliant storyline that left me in awe more than thrice. The fact that Grange had abandoned his usual track of events in his mind while writing the novel also had a considerable positive effect by reducing the predictability of the book. Before moving on to the negative part of my review, I should state that I rate this book 5/5 because of the brilliance and thrill of the entire story. So, in overall, it...
Powerful pharmaceuticals and cynical medical doctors, political motives to the far right end of the political gamut, secret service agents for whom accountability is a concept way beyond comprehension; these ingredients are added in generous quantities and could themselves provide sufficient fuel for a vivid detective novel. Yet for Grangé this is obviously not enough.Add therefore - with equal generosity - an unresolved father/daughter conflict (will the two ever be reconciled / when will she b...
Too many nesting dolls.
This book was good, kept my attention through the end.
With this finishing, I don't have any unread Grangé novel :(This was particularly thrilling and enjoyable. Looking forward to the next book of him <3
