First things first: I absolutely loved the Gilmore Girls reference in the beginning.I loved Charity's character: smart, funny, determined. I can honestly say that this was the hardest book to review for me so far. I must confess, I read up until a certain point and then sort of just skipped to the end. I’ve previously red some of the later books in the Fool’s Gold series but going back to the beginning to see how it all started has been absolutely unforgettable. This was a brilliant introduction to Fool’s Gold. Readers get to know the town alongside its newest resident. I've read a lot of Susan Mallery's newer work, and am finally going back to this series of hers that is SO prolific. Chasing Perfect is the first romance I've ever read with a professional cyclist as one of the leads, so that was refreshing to read! Overall, the story is sweet and I'll be continuing the series. Nothing earth-shattering but not all books need to be that. I'll be slowly making my way through the series as comfort reads for a long time to come.
Threw in the towel at page 32 - when the heroine mentioned for the third time that she just wanted a nice steady guy. That's once every 10 pages. Jesus.
