The last of "The Only's" and I found that I enjoyed them much more than "The Perfect's". The characters were so much warmer and more interesting. Everyone from the previous books did appear so you got to catch up on all the characters of Fool's Gold, it was a great reminder on who was with who and how many kids they currently have- I love that. Most of the time with this many books I forget. Also in Only His you had 2 additional love stories, although not very deep in detail, they were character...
This book was... odd. There were some great plot elements, but they went in really strange directions -- which unfortunately was not a sufficient distraction from the fact that the basic plot is the same one as the other books in this series. And the mix of serious and farcical felt uneasy and unbalanced to me.The town of Fool’s Gold has never seemed all the plausible to me, but in previous books it was certainly a positive place. Here, I got the sense that the town prides itself on being provin...
This was one of the most ridiculous and poorly developed books I've read in a long, long time. The upside is that it was too ridiculous to make me mad, I guess. But seriously, what the hell did I just read?????Lotta bad stuff going on here:-Tucker did basically no work here as a romantic hero and then was forgiven and taken back in the last sentences of the story after a miraculous realization that he actually did love Nevada. After she'd loved him, supposedly for years. An underwhelming A plot
This book just didn't work for me. The problem with long series like this is they all start to feel the same. Insert character A and plot point C and the book is done. I was skimming towards the end. There wasn't any real development between Nevada and Tucker. A few quick romps seems like all we see for their relationship so the ending feels out of place. There were two side stories within this book for secondary characters that didn't work for me either. Way too rushed and didn't do anything fo...
Another good installment for the Fool's Gold series. This one was a bit corny at times and I'm not sure what to say about the whole part Cat played in this story, the relationship, and the town. There was a good base for this couple and I was enjoying them work around their past and through it. But there were some situations once Cat returned to the picture that just took away from the story. It was just a little to ridiculous at times. In a world where we have some slightly over involved home t...
Well Nevada was Nothing about her was stand out. Tucker of course did the Their relationship was I did like Jo and Will and the rest of the happenings in Fool's Gold but this couple was meh!
Only His Susan MalleryONLY HIS is the sixth book in the Fools Gold series and I can't believe I waited so long to read this collection of funny and romantic stories. There are forty three books in this series and I'm hoping to get a huge batch of them read this year. ONLY HIS is also the third book in the Fools Gold Romance trilogy that covers the love story of the three Hendrix sisters who also happen to be triplets. ONLY HIS is Nevada's story.Nevada is oh so lovable that you can't help but che...
This story was barely adequate, and the side-characters didn't help, either. I think I'll keep this one short because the series really needs to be read in order (to this point, anyway), and you know about what to expect by now, probably. My problem with this book is Tucker. He's an idiot and kind of a jerk and I couldn't care less if Nevada ended up with him. He certainly didn't deserve her and the whole book I wondered what she saw in him. It felt more like a crush than an actual relationship.
The last of the Hendrix triplet's gets their happy ending in Only His. This book follows Nevada Hendrix as she goes after a job that she wants, working for a guy that broke her heart. When Nevada was eighteen years old and away at college, her older brother Ethan gave her the name and number of a childhood friend who would show her around and help her if she ever needed it. Nevada wasn't really planning on using the number but when Ethans asks, she caves and gives him a call. She wasn't expectin...
Skimmed the remaining 50 or so pages. I hated this couple so much. They were boring and dull together. Even the sex scenes were a bore. Giving this series one more try and that's it.
Ugh, what a weak note for the Hendrix triplet stories to end on. A lot of this book is just... a mess, from the relatively one-note characterization of Nevada and Tucker to the explosion of weird gender/sexuality generalizations (women being obsessed with their weight/eating salads, bisexuality not existing, brothers having to "defend" their sister's honor with physical violence...) to the totally pointless Cat subplot. There's some good -- the family moments, as always, Jo and Will's and Denise...
Why read: Love the series. What impressed me: This series gets better and better with each new book. I loved the entire dynamic Tucker and Nevada had going. Their mutual past gets in the way of the present, interfering with both business and prospective love. They fight so hard against each other and their obvious desires that you just want to smack the two of them, all the while their getting deeper and deeper under your skin. This was another super quick, totally engaging Fool's Gold novel from...
Originally posted at Romance Around the CornerThis is the third and last book in this new trilogy set in the fictional town of Fool’s Gold. If you are new to the series you should know that each book features one of the Hendrix’s triplets. Only His is Nevada’s book and her turn to find her happily ever after. Ten years ago Nevada was away from home about to start college and feeling like a fish out of water. It was the first time in her life that she wasn’t living at home and worse, it was her f...
Nevada's romance begins when she has a job interview with the man she fell in love with as an 18-year-old at a time when he was obsessed with another woman. Tucker Janack is the heir to a large construction firm and has grown up at construction projects all over the world.Nevada and Tucker met when he was sixteen and she was ten when he came to Fool's Gold for a summer cycling camp and then reconnected when she went to college in LA. He broke her heart in LA and she'd be perfectly good never see...
4 StarsThis was a really fun novel, about a second chance romance. This is the story about the third of the Hendrix triples, Nevada and her romance with Tucker. Ten years earlier they had a one night stand and now her new boss. What I liked the most about this story, was that you also finally got to find out the backstory of Jo who runs the local bar. For all the previous books, Jo has been a staple character and in this book she gets her own happily ever after. Not much to say on Nevada and Tucke...
