fun!!This was a great time in a new adventure with a different kind of heroine. Yes, she’s a bounty hunter and yes, she has a secret, but it’s not the typical secret you see in these kinds of UF’s - at least it’s not one I’ve seen previously. So that was fun, and the chemistry between Tempie and Corbin is spot on. Romantic elements, but this is a slow burn with a potential future.
It's yet another urban fantasy with a headstrong heroine who:- is either a bounty hunter or PI- lives in squalor- dead or missing family- has some secret ability- attracts the attention of a stronk hot guybut I still had plenty of fun reading it tho
A distraction that lasted a day, but nothing more. The MC constantly acts differently than she thinks and says she will, and she also acts like a child at key parts then gets annoyed with her new partner for doing the same in one part. The trust for the stranger who could supposedly kill her for her power was almost instant, with no reasoning to back it up except....attraction. This had the potential to be really good, but just wasn't.
Looking for a new series, new author, and this came up under my Paranormal reading shelf recommendations. Since it was technically free with Kindle Unlimited, I decided to give it a whirl. First impressions: Tempie is a foul tempered bounty hunter, who doesn't work well with others. It comes across as childish and pouty to me. I think the premise of this story is ok, but a bit cookie cutter on the whole. Corbin isn't very impressive so far, with completely unbelievable chemistry. I'm also not im...
The story had potential but too many details were glossed over. The story seemed rushed in terms of the actual action and investigations. I wished we learned more about the world and the magic systems because I was confused about the existence of seelies vs unseelies and solstice nymphs are never explained. Are they just half seelie humans? Also, I did not really feel much chemistry between Corbin and Tempie. The romance seemed a little out of place and I don't understnad why Tempie fell for him...
Great storyI wanted to give it 3 stars, but the story line really is great. I’m not the grammar police, but I really enjoy a story that’s written in a way that flows. The written word in this story is a little rough. Still a really good story and I want to read the continuing works. So even if bad editing gets to you, don’t pass this one up.
This book was a slooowww starter. It had probably one of THE most boring first chapters I've ever read. It was the MC, Tempie, trying to draw a bath for herself. Like, what? Who would start a fast-paced, crime-solving, steamy urban fantasy book with that? But! It finally picks up a third of the way through and is pretty enjoyable after that. The plot gets pretty convenient at times, just dumping information in Tempie and Corbin's laps. Still, it was a fun supernatural mystery. There was some ple...
fun storyI generally really liked the story. It was entertaining, the characters were interesting, and the world development was good. I would’ve rated it five stars but for two things: first, there were pretty obvious typos, and while I can accept some of those, there were quite a few here; second I was really bothered by how easily Tempie was swayed by the main male character and didn’t stick to her guns when I thought she should have. Mostly she was a really strong character though.
Needs editing, but a fun bounty hunter rompSome people can read a book that needs more editing and still enjoy it, but some cannot. If you are in the latter group, pass this up. Lots of work needed to ensure the correct words were selected and that quotation marks were in the right places. If you are in the former group, it was a fun enough story and worth a read. Clearly the first book in a series, it certainly left some question marks for me that I suspect will be answered in future books. For...
Good story. The plot was excellent and the way the story unfolded made sense and kept my interest. The writing was pretty darn good. The MC is a strong and independent female character. The problem for me was the excessive f-bombs. Don’t get me wrong, I am not opposed to a few well-placed f-bombs in books. But there were so many in this book that my eyes started bouncing down the paragraphs looking for them. The excessive f-bombs distracted from the story and made it a bit difficult to read.
