A series I love to hateThis series of books frustrated me to no end. Some of the books were better than others. The series drug out too long and got too convoluted and way too impossible, and yet I felt a need to finish and see how things ended. Thankfully, the books were quick reads and, thankfully, now I am finished with them.
FinallyThis book is full of action and is hard to put down. It finally reveals the mystery started in book one.
Our dear Emma has had all of her questions answered, finally. Though I did start to anticipate some answers, they were revealed in the most satisfying way. AJ Rivers writes a thrilling conclusion, with what I think is the best book of the series. This is one you really just have to read, I think. HOWEVER. Once again, when I was really hoping for a happy ending for Emma, she is left with questions and SO ARE WE. I mean what was that ending?? What happened? Why? I am anticipating a Greg book or an...
It has been more than a year since Emma Griffin stumbled upon a clue behind the dangerous secrets of her past. Now, she has the answers at her fingertips. The only question is will she survive long enough to find them?As Greg struggles to recover, Emma keeps watch over him. She’s desperate for answers, answers locked inside him.And she will do whatever it takes to keep him safe. Her dangerous cat and mouse game with Catch Me, leads her to discover more about Dean and how their pasts truly collide.
Worth waiting for!!I am glad that everything was taken care of in this book. I love Emma and her determination as well as her sense of what is right and wrong. I sincerely hope that this is not over, particularly with the way it ended. A.J.Rivers has a wonderful group of stories with an underlying theme that carries from book to book. Each is a standalone so you can read them out of sequence. But if you can start with #1 and go straight through #7. It is well worth the effort!
Trigger Warnings: Mentions of rape, attempted kidnapping, drugging, and mentions of abusive relationships. "I can't promise you everything is going to be by the book. I might not follow the rules. I might not do things the way other people would want me to do it. I'll do what needs to be done."The Girl and the Deadly End was a nail-biter at times especially as it got towards the end of the book. Emma is dealing with Greg showing up again and him now fighting for his life as well as just the all-...
Emma Griffin is trying to find out who Catch Me is. She doesn’t think it is Lotan, head of Leviathan, so there are two unknowns out there. Lotan is Jonah, the twin of Ian, Emma’s father. He believes Emma is his daughter and wants to bring her on board as one of his chosen. She learns that Dean Steele is Jonah’s son and is her cousin. She, Dean, and Sheriff Sam Johnson work together to solve the mystery and all the deaths that follow Lotan and his group. This book answers a lot of the questions b...
DetailedWould never work as a stand alone even if the author believes that. Took me a while to get back into the story line even though it had only been a month or so after finishing the first six books.
I was drawn into every book of this series and now the secrets are finally revealed. Emma has been searching for answers to how her mother was murdered, where her father is and who is Catch Me? She has been stalked by Catch Me and if she doesn’t pay attention to the clues someone dies. A constant threat Catch Me seems to be able to move at will into her home and on top of that someone who looks just like her father has appeared in pictures but she knows it’s not her father. So many things happen...
This series was a little tiresome. The story got to convoluted and hard to keep track of who is doing what when and where, who is who. I enjoy reading series but with one ending and picking up again through seven books got annoying. I feel like I’m getting a lesson or lecture constantly throughout this series too. There is so much filler explanations, and filler conversations between her and someone. I feel because she knows this is way to long of a continuous story and she goes on tangents that...
Good book, good seriesThis is the final book in this series. It brought together and tied up the missing pieces of the story. I think it is somewhat difficult to have so many books, and to try to remember the story surrounding past characters and the ultimate role they played in the o stall story. I was glad that Emma was able to be reunited with her father but sad that Greg met such a tragic ending after all he went thru. I like this author's writing style and will definitely continue to follow...
Book Review: The Girl and the Deadly End by A.J. Rivers ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️This was the last book of this mystery. I was so happy with the ending and really enjoyed all the mysteries involved through the story. It’s like a cheap knock off of the Blacklist This series follows Emma Griffin — a character we’re supposed to believe is a brilliant FBI agent— except she’s extremely emotional, always getting kidnapped. The first few books drew me in but then, the author took a semi plausible mystery and wove in weird, non-believable, hard to follow storylines. (Some of which closely resemble the Blacklist.)I finished this series simply to see how the author would wrap up this train wreck. The ending was like th...
Emma Apprehends The Serial Killer, Catch Me In this seventh and last book of the Emma Griffin FBI Mystery Seies, Emma Griffin matches wits with not only a Serial Killer but also Lohan, the leader of a terrorist organization. She also discovers hidden facts about her family and the people responsible for her mother’s murder. Although, this currently the last book in the series, the author left a mystery at the end of the book which will probably open the way for an eighth book. This was another g...
Last book in the Emma Griffen series. You figure out what happened to Emma’s Mom and where Emma’s Dad is. How is she related to Dean? Who is the Lotan? Does she have family? An uncle? Who was responsible for all of those crimes? What is the Leviathan? All of the answers are revealed and you will be amazed!!! I didn’t like the last page and what happened to Greg but you will have to read and find out for yourself what goes on….Everything you were wondering in the other books is solved and makes s...
The most convoluted plot I have ever read! You don't have a chance trying to figure this out. It's like trying to separate a spider web. Just when I thought I was getting it the whole theory went sideways. Great suspense that holds your interest through the entire series. The characters are mostly likeable and the villains are truly terrible. While most questions are finally answered the end is still a cliff hanger. Is Leviathan taking on a new leader? And who was that blonde woman? I almost felt...
