Harry Potter for AdultsThis was a fast read. The plot was forced in places and there is still a lot of the plot unexplained. The book feels like it ended to soon, but luckily there are several more in this series. It was action packed and felt like reading an adult version of Harry Potter.
Really?Sigh" 65% and I was calling it with this book, I'm not really sure what this read was about? She kills two Guys and we get little information about that, she's sent to a academy for magic creatures to learn to control powers but the whole read is of her getting wet, weak in the knees, horny? I wanted a real story! Not a rushed book with the main girl 16% in and already wanting two guys she doesn't know, and the guys in the same boat! "Idk why I want her, I haven't felt like this way for a...
I am having a hard time reviewing this book. Don't get me wrong, I like it. The story line is very interesting and has potential. My problem is that when you think of a complete book, you think of a beginning, a middle (where the action starts) and the ending (where something but maybe not everything is wrapped up). This book had the beginning where you meet the characters and the background is laid out. However, as soon as the action starts, the books ends. I was like "where is the rest of the

I don't think that Raven is the right name for a character with red hair and green eyes. This book could have done with a lot of padding out, it was extremely short and didn't describe things all that well. Also, the sexual encounters happen to close to the beginning of the book, so proper tension isn't built up.I really like Luca, blonde hair and blue eyes and a good sense of humour--totally sexy. I do not like Ben, he is an over protective ass who thinks too much of himself.I can't wait to get t...
Ehhh, it was fine, but I found that too many things just didn't work for me.Here are just a few quick irks:- The FMC is 21, and keeps saying how the academy feels like high school because everyone is behaving like brats. Yeah, they are (also, the teachers too), and it's super dumb. Why not have them act like adults or then just make a genuine high school academy book?- Nobody tells the FMC, who is a magic newbie, how to do magic and what is "illegal" or how to act among the magical folk. And the...
Short, but fairly decent read. I would have to continue the series to get the whole story. I'm not sure if I liked it enough to read the next book... Maybe.
Misleading I mean its clear that the book is headed to the place the blurb describes but it doesn't actually get to any mate bond place in the story which I found pretty misleading. It also jumps into sex fairly quickly in a way that just sort of felt like whip lash and didn't leave enough time for plot. Though most of the male characters have sections in their own points of view they're so distant I don't feel like I really know any of the characters. There just wasn't enough to this book to ch...
More reviews can be found at https://smadasbooksmack.blogspot.com/**4.5 Stars**Raven has no idea what happened, she was being attacked by two men in an alley and next thing she knew she was basically arrested by magical police, dragged to a secret compound and told she killed those men with fire, informed she might be a mage and she is now forced to attend what is basically a magical college and has a year to get her life figured out before she will be imprisoned or worse. Yeah, to say that her
Raven didn't know she had magic, until she kills 2 men that were trying to kill her. She has a choice either go to magic prison or go to magic school. She picks magic school, as she just has a year to get her magic under control.Raven meets with the Dr Green, the head of the school. He says she is there under a scholarship that everything is covered. He tells Luka to take her to her room.Raven is feeling this crazy pull to Luka as he is to her. He tries to explain the way the school runs. Then h...
There are not many things that I love as much as a lot of magical creatures forced to exist in the same world, with each other. So, when I saw the blurb of this book, promising me an entire school filled with shifters, demons and mages I was already sold. Add the reverse harem aspect and the promise that those short reads would read like a tv show and nothing could go wrong. And luckily this book totally lived up to the high expectations I had of it. It indeed manages to create the feel of watchi...
IF YOU WANT A GOOD ACADEMY BOOK TO READ WITH GREAT CHARACTERS, YOU NEED TO READ THIS!!What the heck Alexis Calder? This book was amazing. I am so happy that I came across this book to read. This book just jumps right into the thick of things and does not let up. You never know what to expect. I love Raven, she is very strong willed and independent. She does a good job maintaining the tough girl status but when alone to her own thoughts she breaks. She has to attend an Elite school because of som...
DNF @ 12%My one and only highlight is “I’m not sure you’re ready for that answer yet, kitten,” he said, winking. With the note GAGI read a lot of romances, I've read a fair few in the year of 2019 that were reverse harem books; some work some don't. When I DNF a book, I don't do it lightly I HATE not finishing a book; its frustrating and sad. This was just boring. There isn't a lot of room for a developed story line and I could already tell this book was going to be full of holes with 'mysteries...
*WARNING* contains sexual situationsRaven thought she was a normal 21 year old woman until she killed a couple of men by setting them on fire. Now Raven goes to a school for magic elites. This is a lot like other academy books. This first one is more of a "meet the characters", leave the reader with multiple questions, and give a nice build up to what can be expected in the next book. I think this is a great start.
According to Amazon, this is 139 pages, but it felt absurdly short. I felt like I was maybe halfway through the story when it ended, mainly because it felt like there weren't any major plot points (outside those related to relationships) between the beginning and the end. Also, one of the last lines of dialogue didn't make sense to me, so that threw off the whole ending for me. I'm not sure whether I will continue the series or not. It will probably depend on how desperate for reading material I...
