Fun seriesI thought the author did a good job addressing the challenges and strategies in the space combat. This series is set in current time and I thought the author did a good job describing the political situation in the U.S.. I hope the author continues to write more books the world that he has created here.
Great funI'm sorry I waited so long to review . I thought the first book started a bit slow but once I got into the series I couldn't stop. I stayed up to midnight one night just to finish book 3. It has been a long time since that has happened. Leaving me the reader with the awesome tease in the last book leaves me desperate for your next book.
Great story!Love the characters in this series. Bob does a good job of really getting you invested in their struggles. Would have been 5 stars but there were some issues with editing. At one point the AI "Adi" states that she is 500 years old, the person she is talking with exclaims "you're 300 years old" then the ai goes on to explain that most of that time was spent on this mission. Which has lasted 170 years. There were a few other instances where characters stated that certain parts/ships we...
Although I enjoy reading these books I often find myself with lots of questions that aren't answered, but I have learned to just go with the flow and not worry about anything that doesn't make sense. This was an enjoyable book even though there were a couple of things that annoyed me a little e.g.(view spoiler)[ It was so obvious the US president was going to take advantage of the Paraxean invasion and attack Delphi that I became quite frustrated with the story waiting for them to get a plan in p...
The 5 stars are for the series .Definitely 5 stars. For all of the books. Over the course of the series I have thoroughly enjoyed how the characters "tweek" the heads of the established world order. Having chanced upon a dormant alien spacecraft the steps the characters take are believable and heartening to see. While pursuing some very noble altruistic goals, the main characters don't loose sight of how the rest of the world thinks or acts. There are some cliff hangers at the end of the books,b...
Good start to finish. The characters and predicaments kept me reading. The situations and possibilities are evolving to what all could hope for in a utopian society. Lots of good ideas. There super smart young people and capable adult folk who are truly benign to keep the design together. Hope this group runs for office. Look forward to more by this author. Read 135 of Edgar Rice Burroughs books in my 20s. His 25 books of Tarzan took a theme and ran with it. In stories of John Carter of Mars, Mo...
Great ReadMarc and crew fight attempts to seize their city and space station. After discovering a Paraxian fleet hiding behind a huge asteroid that is approaching the solar system, Marc comes clean about the space ship they discovered along with the aliens. Even as most of the world rallies to their proposed world defence alliance, some heads of state try to take advantage of the situation to gain control of Delphi. I like the action, humor, strategy, and bit of romance. This is a great series a...
Like the story line, hate the PC propaganda and what’s this continued obsession with Global warmingI ran all of the series so far I love the first two books I like the other books however the author tends to go off track and really wants to push the PC claimant has been affecting this country as well as the obsession with global warming. And also was obsessions that the USA and is some evil force that need to be dealt with.Again great storyline good story It’s just that the propaganda that she wo...
I just blew through all the books in this series (1-9 as I’m certain more are coming). As a result I am doing one review for all the books. The top item is: these books are significantly better than 95% of self-published books. Book one is by far the worst of the series and it is still okay. Book one’s main problem is that it lacks story resolution, something I hate and generally do not forgive. Here, however, the author tells a more character driven story which reduces the need for a firm resol...
So enjoyable!
The series sucked me in this past weekI became engrossed in the series. This starts as an engineer discovers a spacecraft. He develops an navel imaging device that the government has to have. His daughter is a young imaginative genius becomes interwoven into the plot. They want to help earth and poor countries by modifying current technologies and introduce new technologies. I think there is enough hard science that I was sucked in. The series progresses from constructing an independent city, to...
Epic space battle Finally the p.c. global warming hoax drops out of narrative. And an epic battle for survival takes place, in deep space, with intriguing threads of Intel, strategy, tactics, politics, intrigue, and innovation, all intermingled. Best of all, it is seen from only one perspective, so there are no narrative cheats to the reader about whether the analyses are right, partly right, or wrong, at any step of the way. Oh, and a good book for both young teen boys and girls to find a hero
Enjoyed it till the bloodless coup attempt.... The concept that with the endless ingenuity of the world's shadow ops would have a coup attempt on a space station unarmed.... There are thousands of chemical reactions not to mention just compressed air to create projectile weapons not to mention spring, Poison darts, Poison and chemical weapons, Chemical Catalysts that steal O2 out of atmo.... Story isn't fun if the antagonist is a continuous string of Idiots. So waited for Battleship to fire its
Your utopia Re book 10. In your utopia you forgot to take out abuse of women. If you are going to have prostitution it's only fair that it be a choice. And if it's a choice then where is the 401 k vacation safety respect sick leave. If it's a choice, a job then they have rights just like anyone else. The right not to be beaten, the right to keep the money, not have some John use you, your body, not his, so he can make money. That's abuse. So in your utopia if you think any woman would choose to
Blanton, Bob. Delphi Alliance. Delphi in Space No. 5. Kindle, 2019.The fledgling South Pacific nation of Delphi is working hard to clean up the world environment and make humanity a true space-faring species when it is alerted to a Ceres-sized asteroid just about to enter the solar system. It could collide with the Earth or it could be hiding an alien invasion fleet. So the Delphi folks have to organize and international effort to ramp up their space-born resources to meet the threat. Catie, now...
Finally the aliens whose technology has featured from the series start now finally appear, and for once they are not some totally evil group, more miss led by leaders with their own agenda. Actually their just decent folk looking for a new home who have been told us human are the evil ones. Really enjoyed the space battle stage as it was considerably lower tech than what you get and more realistic as a result. This one I couldn't put down.
Short and sweetWell tome it was short and sweet. Took me a few hours to get through once I started, and could not put down. Would loved to have had some more grit and detail, but I guess it is the style of writing so I will take what I get. Now I have to waaaaiiit for a few more months for the next installment. Thank you for your writing it is really appreciated!!
