I struggle rating these books, because I have a couple of issues with them, but I also keep coming back!Zoe Bentley and Tatum are back, investigating a murder that seems to connect to Rod Glover, Zoe's nemesis since book one. Only, there's some details that just don't seem to fit - including the fact that someone's been drinking blood. As usual with this series there's good points and bad - the characters are very well drawn, they're all individuals with quirks that set them apart, but they still...
The 3rd book in the Zoe Bentley series is as entertaining as the others. There were gruesome murders, yet it was a fun read. The detailed profiling was interesting, for once they got it right about the killer's profile in the first go. I could sympathize with Zoe whenever she tried to give a witty comeback and failed, then thinks back how she could have handled it better. She unwittingly becomes the detective O 'Donnell's agony aunt. The chemistry between Zoe and Tatum was like static electricit...
Review for 'Thicker than blood ' by Mike OmerRead and reviewed via NetGalley for Thomas & Mercer publishing .Available to preorder for release on 23rd June. This is the first book that I have read by this author. It is the third book in the 'Zoe Bentley Mystery' series . It mentions previous cases but gives any background needed to go with it. I will definitely be happy to read more of his books. This can be read as a standalone and reading it made me want to read the previous books in the serie...
I’ll give it 3.75 stars!First and foremost, a large thank you to NetGalley, Mike Omer, and Thomas & Mercer for providing me with a copy of this publication, which allows me to provide you with an unbiased review.Returning for the third in the Zoe Bentley series, the reader is able to get a real grasp for how Mike Omer seeks to shape the book and his protagonist. While still in Chicago, FBI forensic psychologist Zoe Bentley and Special Agent Tatum Gray are hot on the heels of Rod Glover, a serial...
This, the third Zoe Bentley mystery, is another excellent entry in the series. Zoe Bentley, forensic psychologist consulting with the FBI, and Tatum Gray, her FBI partner are in Chicago. They are on the trail of Rod Glover, a serial killer who featured in the previous book. He is still at large and they suspect he has come to Chicago. There has been a murder bearing most of the hallmarks of a Glover Killing with a few extra embellishments. It seems someone drank some of the victim’s blood (yuck)...
Thicker Than Blood was another great story in the Zoe Bentley series but I missed the burgeoning camaraderie between Zoe and Tatum. Zoe’s obsession with catching serial killer Rod Glover was the true driver of this story and she definitely started to show signs that she was unraveling. For the most part Zoe and Tatum worked together but she spent much of that time in her own head with Tatum playing a supportive role. Everything taking place was personal to Zoe and there was much riding on the su...
Secrets were sticky. They could clog your tear ducts if you weren’t careful.I've missed Zoe and Tatum so much! That's the downside of being up-to-date with series, you have to wait a whole year for the next book. This is the third one in the series and I have no idea if there's gonna be another one... I really hope so.This book is about profiling, BAU (Behavioral Analysis Unit) and serial killers. Zoe Bentley is a FBI criminal profiler with great intuition but socially awkward. And then we have
If you've read any of Mike Omer's previous books in the series, then you'll know that the killers in his books are absolutely depraved, devious individuals. But this one takes the cake! Thicker than Blood is an unsettling, dark and twisted read about a killer with a taste for blood! Unputdownable, this book may just leave you with a serious case of I-cant-sleep-without-the-lights-on.When the body of the local Pastor's daughter is discovered, savagely murdered, the police are clueless about who t...
A delusional killer who likes—or needs—to drink blood, along with the return of Zoe’s sadistic nemesis from the first two books in this series, make for a dark and twisted read. This book is not for the squeamish. Mike Omer spares no details. We see what these psychopathic killers are like, up close and personal, and we feel it from both the killers’ and the victims’ perspectives.I liked that the storylines converge here, so the new case intertwines with the ongoing case from the first two books,...
Thicker than Blood by Mike Omer is the 3rd book in the Zoe Bentley Mystery series. Forensic psychologist Zoe Bentley and her partner agent Tatum Gray attend a crime scene where the victim is killed by the same signature as that of serial killer rod Glover but with added features of vampirism. A particularly gruesome and gory thriller again featuring a killer who has been pursuing Zoe since her childhood. Zoe and Tatum are a terrific team and hopefully we will see more of them. Chilling and unput...
The third book in the Zoe Bentley Mystery series. Zoe is a FBI forensic psychologist. Zoe and her partner, Tatum Gray, are on a case involving vampirism and Rod Glover, the serial killer who has haunted Zoe since childhood. Gruesome and thrilling crime series.
It took me a little while to get into this, but eventually it hooked me. The mystery was interesting and it definitely took some turns I hadn't expected, which I enjoyed. While the mystery was good, I could've used a little more character development with Zoe and Tatum. And there wasn't enough Marvin. However, it broke me out of my book slump and I'll look forward to the next book in this series.
