"Hannah's mouth tasted bitter, and she felt as if her entire body was covered in a layer of slime. Some days, no matter how much she showered, she couldn't feel clean. She sat in Clint's Chevy as he drove her back to her car. The lighthearted atmosphere that had surrounded them as they left Red's Pizza was gone. It was evening, and they had visited and interrogated two rapists, a child molester, and a pedophile who was once caught with over seven hundred underage porn clips on his laptop. Hannah...
This plot was riveting. There were occasional actions by the characters (police officers) that I thought were unlikely and unrealistic; there were a couple of very under-developed subplots that should have just been left out if they weren't going to be explored. This was probably a half-hearted attempt to include some "romance", but that didn't work. Lastly, the author needs to hire a good editor. I find blatant verb-tense and usage errors very distracting and irritating. This author needs an ed...
Another enjoyable read in the Glenmore Park series. In this installment, Hannah is on a bad blind date when she receives a call from a family friend. Hannah learns the woman's 12 year old daughter is missing. Glenmore Park and the FBI are on the case, as they race against time to save a little girl. The 12-year old in this book meets a "boy" online and leaves her house to meet him one night. This "boy" is actually a kidnapper with sinister motives. As a parent of a 10 year old, this scares me bec...
Zoe Bentley is back in this one! Albeit briefly...In this third book of the series, Detective Hannah Shor gets a case in the worst way possible – a friend calls her for help because her daughter has been kidnapped! And the ransom note goes viral! The police, FBI, and online crime sleuths try to put the pieces together before Abby is killed! It's a good, quick read, with a pretty exciting ending! Now that I've read all three books, I have to ask - what is up with all of the spider references? All
This one was pretty intense! I enjoyed it, especially the ending.
Intense book This book really makes me want to wrap my children up in a bubble. I know that's not realistic though. The fact that this happened because of the adults decisions around her are mind blowing. Every action, reaction, life choices all end up coming to light. Honestly, I don't understand why anyone would keep secrets. This was revenge and hatred. I've been scarred for life by the things that others around me, as a child and as an adult, kept hidden or just the act of not caring. I unde...
A thrilling read with a touch of humourThis was a great read – plenty of thrills and excitement and a huge dose of humour thrown in. Right from the start we are thrown into the story with the disappearance of a young girl who was out with her friend, waiting to meet up with a mystery acquaintance. This turns out to be a kidnapping with a demand for a huge ransom and no-one can figure out why. As we go further into the story the truth seems to be revealed but nothing is as it seems and there are
The "whole world is watching" and "online vigilantes". This portion of the book enlightened me to how involved internet viewers can become. I know the internet is powerful, but I never considered using it like this. As shown in this book, there are pros and cons. Regarding the characters and story, they/it were entertaining, but not captivating. I couldn't identify with anyone and actually became annoyed at the main character's promiscuity. In addition, the ending seemed rushed and unbelievable....
Good storyI really enjoyed reading this book, it kept my interest and I was anxious to start reading it again every time I put it down. I would recommend this book and any other books written by Mike Omer to anyone who enjoys reading a story that holds your attention. My congratulations to mr. Omer
Of the three Glenmore Park books, this was my favorite. The humor with which Mr. Omer wrote this book, along with the whimsical way Eric Martin narrated made the book highly entertaining. While I didn't love how Hannah Shor was made to be a cliche with the men in the story, she redeemed herself in the end. I'm glad I read it, though I still prefer the Zoey Bentley series. Solid story.
This book sort of fell flat to me. There’s a 12 yro girl missing and the team has a few members more interested in hooking up with each other than finding her it seems. Also Abigail’s (12 yro kidnapped girl) perspective is written far more mature than I would expect. How many 12 year olds go around thinking that pizza is “exquisite”? I still enjoy Mike Omer’s work but this one missed the mark.
I am sorry to come to what is apparently the last book in the Glenmore Park series. Mike Omer has created a great ensemble cast of officers detectives, private detectives, FBI agents and profilers, and crime scene investigators. A big plus with all of Omer's series is his delightfully bizarre humor and incorporation of contemporary technology--Reddit, MMORPGs, Instagram, and dating apps. Former cop and private detective Jurgen Adler (who is Japanese-Norwegian) is one of my favorite characters in...
Great read!If you like exciting, fast paced mysteries then you will love this, just as I did! I found Mike Omer on Amazon’s Best reads for July and read “A Killer’s Mind”. I was hooked! I ordered the Web series and have just finished the third in the series. This “Web of Fear” is my favorite of the 3 but they are all exciting. His newest, In the Darkness” comes out on the 16th and I have ordered it. He writes involving stories filled with terrific characters and they are fast paced! Try it, you
I just finished the Glenmore Park Mystery series and the books were awesome. I love how the author writes from the perspective of the story and not one single character. I love getting inside the minds of all of the characters and seeing things from their perspective. This story is great because the ending is not predictable and yet fits the book without any cheap surprises. I read the Zoe Bentley book and that brought me here. Keep writing Mike!!!
Farewell Glenmore ParkThis book may be where Mike Omer choose to use the ladies as his main protagonist; enter Zoe and Abby. They show more passion and compassion than us guys. The Hannah character was a bit too neurotic for me, but it didn't negate Mike's ability to write a compelling police procedural. My favorite part is the visit to the junk yard. Almost as good as " Teenage Wasteland" 😉
Not his best bookI like this author. He has a fun, relaxed writing style. This is the sixth book of his I've read. It's not my favorite - I found it took me longer to get through this book than others of his I've read, as the storyline wasn't as interesting as in some of his other books. And there were actually quite a few grammatical errors. This was a bit surprising since this is book 3 of 3. But overall a good read.
