New Innovations in Teaching and Learning in Higher Education

New Innovations in Teaching and Learning in Higher Education

Claus Nygaard
0/5 ( ratings)
This book presents primary examples of innovative teaching and learning practices in higher education. The authors all share the ambition to develop educational provisions so they become much more learning-centered. The book is truly international, containing contributions from Australia, Denmark, England, Hong Kong, Italy, Quatar, Scotland, South Africa, Tasmania, Vietnam, and USA. Although the educational contexts are very different across these countries, there appears to be a striking similarity in the approach to innovative teaching and learning. The harmonization, standardization and modularization of higher education have disentangled and disengaged students as they have been gradually transformed into customers. Luckily there is now a strong movement in higher education to give back agency to students, to center student learning, and to develop curricula which enhances innovative practices.
