A cute early elementary story about a brother and sister where the sister wants to be a star and the brother ends up stealing the show.
Lights, Camera, Carmen! is a children's picture book. This story is all about Carmen who wants to be commercial star after she finds information about a cereal commercial. When she submits her video, her brother gets the staring role and not her. I really liked this book because it shows unconditional love and that you shouldn't resent others for having things of winning things that you don't. Text on each page was kept short and illustrations were colorful to keep the readers attention. Its a v...
I liked that Carmen was able to recognize the true star of the story and not let her jealousy stand in the way.
A great book to talk about growth mindset and dealing with disappointment. For my full review, visit http://kissthebookjr.blogspot.com

I really enjoyed this book! So did my toddler niece. The story is cute and I loved the illustration style! I thought it contains a good lesson about being happy for someone you love who gets what you wanted/a dream you had. 🧡 Also I loved the bits of Spanish sprinkled in, like Carmen calling Eduardo “hermanito.” 🥰
Carmen wants to be a star. She switches from theater to film to enter the cereal commercial contest. She and her little brother work together to create a "showstopper" video. In a twist, her brother is chosen as the new face for the cereal. She's unhappy but after thinking about it, makes a career change - now she's his agent.
This was so funny, cute and charming! The illustrations are beautiful and bursting with bright color and the characters, especially Carmen and her little brother, are so vivid. A great story for adults and kids alike, but especially if you have a little diva in your family.
Cute story about learning to share the spotlight. Some Spanish words included. I had to explain what a cinematographer is and an agent, and the group didn't quite understand the auditioning for a commercial via mail.
Carmen has big ideas, lots of creativity, and she doesn't give up.
Super cute picture book about a diva named Carmen who comes up with a plan to star in her own commercial. Lovely family dynamic.
Fun story about sharing the spotlight. Recommended for ages 4-6.
Soooooooooooo cute! The art is wonderful and the amazing story and Carmen's acceptance was pure magic!
