I'm on an email list where I get free books each week online if I want to download them and this was one of them. TOTAL WIN!!! It was soooo fun, snarky, and adorable. I'm happy that it will be a series. So, we have Essie, a werewolf who works for WTF - Werewolf Treaty Federation. I already love the acronym. She left her small town a year ago to take this job when she found out that her worthless boyfriend had cheated on her. But, she's being sent back into this town for a job. I hope she bites hi...
Find all of my reviews at: http://52bookminimum.blogspot.com/3.5 StarsI think many active Goodreads members would agree they read for a couple of pretty specific reasons . . . On particularly crappy days, I like to indulge in some wereporn. Mainly because . . . . Great googly moogly!Don’t judge. Y’all know you’ve probably read some pretty shallow stuff a time or two as well . . . Ready to Were is the story of Essie, a woman who hightailed it out of her small Georgia town when she fou...
While this is not a bad book, it is not a good book either. Like most of the aspects of this book, everything is balanced, which leaves only a bland sandwich for readers to sink their teeth into. Many of the characters (indeed, all of the evil ones) are horribly one-dimensional, ignoring the opportunity to breath some extra life into this novel. The plot is predictable, and only the actions and lines of Essie’s gay vampire BFF Dwayne created an aura of inspired creativity. Essie is our female lea...
I love snark, furry snark, old snark, fiery snark, sparkly snark, nothing beats a good laugh. If you add a good story, with some heartbreak, back stabbing and kick arse action you have a winning combination for this reader. This book hit that happy spot, I enjoyed it, had fun with these characters and chuckled loudly in public while reading it. I can't believe I almost passed up on this and it was (is still) am Amazon freebie. Hey, the majority of them have been lacking for me. Give it a try, th...
*spoilerish, if that's possible for a book that's so obvious*DNF 40%At 10% I wrote a status update that echoed my thoughts from reading the book's synopsis. It said, "I'm just gonna lay this out there right now. If it turns out that the whole 'Hank cheated' thing turns out to be a misunderstanding in which she ran off too soon to work out the truth (oops, sorry), I'm just gonna 1 star this sucker for the predictable, over used, insulting to women plot-line. Just sayin'"I only needed 35% to know....
Robyn Peterman books always make laugh, great start to a new series :)
I really liked this story about a female werewolf working for an agency named Werewolf Treaty Federation (WTF). This book is funny, has great romance, alpha weres, a gay vampire and dragons. Lots of fun supernatural goings on. I'll definitely read more in this series.
Fans of Danielle Garret, and Molly Harper who haven’t already devoured this series should snap them up on audio. The story opens when we meet Essie, a young were, who left her hometown and fiancé back in Hung Island, GA and joined the WTF (Werewolf Treaty Federation). Her bestie is a gay vampire named Dwayne, and she lives in a crappy apartment in Chicago. She misses her hunky alpha ex-boyfriend and home. However, she loves her job, and she is good damn good at it.Her boss assigns her to a case i...
This is a straight-forward read but a little too, uh, manufactured for my taste. Both the characters and their situations tended to be broadcast a little broadly with too many contrivances to buy into at all. I mean, she left a year ago and in that time she not only completed super speshal agent training, but became a top agent with lots of experience to lean on. When it turned out how stupid she was in leaving in the first place, I kind of lost all respect for her. I might have made it further,...
Robyn Peterman is hilarious! Little plot, but Ready to Were is a fast, smooth read and a great pick me up during those mornings or before bed! Agent Essie griping when she reunites with her ex, the small-town police chief she has to work with on a missing persons case:"He sat down behind his desk in the chair we'd nicknamed the BJ Mobile and crossed his stupidly muscled arms over his stupidly muscled chest."
I'd say the MC had all the immaturity of a 12-14 year old, but I fear that would be insulting to 12-14 year olds. Add in an incredibly over the top gross caricature of a gay best friend, all other women are the enemy out to steal her man, stalking portrayed as love, and I stopped in disgust about 35% in.
On your mark, get set, get READY TO WERE! Witty, sarcastic, and just plain fun reading, READY TO WERE by Robyn Peterman is, beneath the laughter, a second chance romance for a WTF (Werewolf Treaty Federation) agent and a small town sheriff, who also happens to be the pack alpha. Welcome to Hung Island, GA., and although Essie vowed never to return, she finds herself back and working with the dog who cheated on her. But wait, there’s more! Meet Essie’s best friend, Dwayne, the gay vampire and her...
Laughed my stomach sore “He’s her mate and he dipped his stick in several other … actually many other oil tanks. So she dumped his furry player ass, snuck away in the middle of the night and hadn’t really planned on ever going back there again.” – Dwayne Last night was “cleanse the palette” night. After some difficult reads, with deep thought processes needed, it was time to pull up a “freebie” from an Indie author. Ground rules: the author’s first book in a series (I had thought this was actual...
Ready To Were, Shift Happens series by Robyn Peterman is another winner for Robyn.Essie is a secret werewolf agent sent to her hometown, Hung Island. Hank is the Alpha werewolf sheriff and Essie's ex. The sparks and the hilarious snarky comments will keep you reading as together they try to solve the mystery. The secondary characters of Dwayne, Essie's grandmother, and the others were all great supporting characters that added dimension to both Essie and Hung Island. Fabulous new cuss words from
I love Robyn Peterman because every time I pick up one of her books, I know I am going to love the original story line, laugh hysterically at all of the characters and walk away with a bunch of new funny as hell cuss words! Plus her heroes are always super hot, ultra sexy and major alphas! Hank was no different! OMG Dwayne was fantastic as well as granny, they were so funny! Essie was the perfect partner for Hank, yeah she was gullible in her youth but she owned up to her mistakes and she grew i...
This is my second romance by this author, and it is exactly as silly, childish and trope-laden as the first.
