So I kind of thought it was a funny story and the pencils delivered it very well.It could easily turn into a movie, probably a b one, but still, I liked it.
2 stars because I actually finished it. Like, kudos to the team, they actually had me finish this joke. Since I mentioned "jokes" believe me, if you wanna read this for the funny one liners and just laugh... Don't. You won't. It's the cliche American frat bro humor for 170 pages. Ugh. It's .... So sad. I really wanted to like this. Cuz the idea seemed fun to read, but no, let's ruin this with stupid humor who makes no one... Literally NO ONE.. ok except maybe if you're drunk and high and just go...
I really wanted to like this. I'm a big fan of Paul Scheer's. But this was just a 100 pages of frat boy jokes in space. It was awful. The art looked amatuerish as well.
Ehhh I wanted to like this, I did, but it's mostly just some bro humor in space. Not even especially clever, tbh. Maybe would appeal more to teenage bros?
Aliens vs. Parker aims to be to the Alien franchise what The Orville is to Star Trek, but it misses both on laughs and thrills.
I love Paul Scheer, but I didn't think this book was all that funny. I had to make myself finish it.
A pretty decent SF/action/comedy hybrid.
I thought it was pretty hilarious. A little cheesy at times but I think that's what they were aiming for. Overall I liked it.
(3,8 for okay-ish comedy/parody on heroic sci-fi action adventures)With mediocre but OK art and half-successful attempts to be funny here comes a bunch of space fed-ex guys who will, surprise surprise, meet the bloodthirsty aliens. The comic is not attempting to be something big and great. It's purely for fun. And it works. Warning - the first issue is just intro, taking place in a virtual reality video game. It's weirdly bad, I felt like "few more pages of this and I will put it off for good".
Not as funny as it thinks it is, a lot of it is just lame one liners emitting from the mouths of unlikeable characters. Maybe I'm just getting old?
