Luna Caledonia is a collection of poems, stories, excerpts from journals and essays by five Filipino writers who were given residency grants from 1989 to 1991 at the Hawthornden Castle International Retreat for Writers in Midlothian, Scotland. These are: Rofel G. Brion, Alfred A. Yuson, Marjorie M. Evasco, Ricardo M. de Ungria and Eric Gamalinda.
The books is a celebration of the solitude and quiet joy that attend the very moment and act of writing, and is a testament to the magical landscapes and forces that enabled each writer to create with lucidity and the least pain.
If there is anything that can be said to pervade the book, it can only be this: beauty.
