Kinda liked it and hated it at the same time. The story line was OK but a bit underdeveloped. Also the writing style was amateur in places, but Ok in others. For erotica, the sex was mediocre.Overall, just an "ok" read.
This is a book your mother warned you about. A very spicey, vampire love triangle with a murder mystery to solve. Lots of hot scenes, good plot, an enjoyable easy read.
3.5 Stars Enjoyed the basic story line but there were allot of missing details and skipping ahead in the story. Burke and his passion were definitely my favorite parts throughout.
Why is it that the blurbs never mention supernationalism?? I mean I liked it the sex was hot but I'm really not a huge fan of the magic shit, creeps me out.
Two stars only because it isn't the worst-written book I've read. Thank goodness it was a freebie.
A sometimes dark, suspenseful read. Quick paced with a strong plot. Great read.
71570 words – Purchased at Smashwords.comTwo vampire alpha males calming you… really, how can you find fault with that? This was a delightful book and honestly I can’t find a lot of fault. This wasn’t pure erotic and had a nice paranormal story that ran concurrent to the rest of the book as a mystery. The ending was a bit of a shock, which was a nice surprise. I would have preferred to have read more of the triad together and how the Origo aspect relates to that. The concept of shared feeling was...
Well, gotta say I just didn't like this book. Didn't care for the characters at all. Just couldn't get into it.
Sophie Durand is a nightclub (Carpe Nocturne) owner. One night a man is found murdered in her club. She then meets a mysterious dude, who turns out to be a vampire and suspected of being the murderer by the secret vampire police (no, really). We discover Sophie is an origo, meaning that she is destined to belong to two masters. Of course, the other master would be one of the secret police.Cue trying to keep Sophie safe and alive, dealing with the whole thing of both masters being at odds, etc. T...
This was an interesting take on vampire stories but was essentially sex with a supernatural twist. Very corny female character. Not a book I’d recommend...
Book Synopsis When a man is found murdered in Sylvie Durand’s nightclub, she has no idea she is about to tumble head first into a world of danger and forbidden sexual pleasure. The mysterious Burke Langton is her only ally. His powerful body and commanding spirit calms her fear, and his dominant nature stirs her lust. But he isn’t what he seems. His secrets are darker and more treacherous than Sylvie could ever imagine. As danger draws nearer, they are joined by the commanding Miko Dvorak. To
Can this even be considered in the realm of vampirism? Both Burke and Miko are sanguinarian vampires that exude sex appeal and a mesmerizing stare that bewitches its victim (Sophie) into compromising situations. They can lift a 100+lb women but are unable to tackle simple chains or duck tape. Yes, duck tape, that insurmountable dreaded mortal chain, flummoxes even the undead when one suddenly finds themselves bound by it. Supposedly their strength and rejuvenative powers far surpass mortals but t...
Finding a man murdered in her nightclub was bad enough, realizing that she is in danger as well has Sophie Durand terrified. Burke Langton is handsome, charismatic, and a vampire who is searching for the killer since he has been falsely accused of the murder. Burke realizes that he has finally found his mate, Sophie but in order to finish the claiming they have to find their third... a cop who just happens to be looking for Burke. This was interesting the vampire/mate story was intriguing and try...
This was an interesting vampire read. I really enjoyed it and plan to read more along this series. I was a bit disappointed because we didn't learn much about how vampires came to be or what their weaknesses were, except for sunlight. There was a touch of BDSM to the book but not much. I didn't really get a feel for D/s relationship between Sylvie, Miko and Burke. I was also a bit stunned that Sylvie could take them both with no prep and she'd never done that before. That one was a real stretch f...
I really enjoyed Claim Me. It was a pretty quick read and extremely steamy for the sex scenes. That's something I love about Tawny Taylor - those portions are never skimped on! I just wished there had been more world-building. I would've loved to hear how vampires were "born" as they had parents, and a little more about Sylvie's past, along with the magic they did.All in all, this was a fun read that I definitely enjoyed.
What I Liked: It told a story and didn't race through the book without letting the reader know what was happening, and why. What I didn't Like: I didn't like the fact that its main men where 2 vampires and not one, it gets confusing on where the book is trying to go and what is happening. But all in all this book was good. The story was well told and the other did a great job at keeping me on the edge of my seat.
Highly recommend this story. The story of a woman having not one but two soul mates out there in the world is thrilling. What woman doesn't want to find her one and only, but find out you have two is mind blowing. Tawney weaves a suspenseful story of a woman that finds a dead body in her bar into a page turning journey to catch a killer while opening herself up to romance with 2 vampires.
Interesting read. The triangle they had going was exciting and kept you reading to find out who the killer was. Miko, I think didn't really get his fair shake, she seemed more into Burke then him. Either way a good read.
2.5 starsLoved the premise, but wasn't thrilled with the actual storytelling. Didn't care for the pov and the plethora of narrative to tell me the characters' emotions rather than utilizing action or dialogue.
Not worth the $6 I paid for it! Not one of Tawny's better stories. Felt rushed & just left so many unanswered questions. Save your money on this story, & that's coming from a Tawny fan!
