I liked the story:) I just felt it could have been alot more...I wanted more backstory on the brothers the sister and The Secret...I had too many questions...especially with how it ended..it was left open for a sequel, but I was not intrigued enough with any other characters to scream for the next book...That said I did love the sex scenes!..it got very hot at the club:)...Im sure Ill read the next one if there is one!
Intriguing story line that I would have enjoyed learning about. The family of Drako has the job of protecting the "Secret" from discovery by the "Chimera" organization, or it will harm all of mankind. Not enough of an explanation to really help the reader understand this. Drako and his brothers must marry to have sons to carry on the job, but he feels he cannot love the woman he choses, to protect those he is charged to keep safe. Never really explains why this is true, and of course, they fall
eh... its nothing special... lots of plotholes... very vague... problems at the end with continuity. the guy's brother's eyes "went blank and cold" because that's what dead peoples eyes do... and then he went to the hospital and is "all better" after a few months rehab or emergency surgery or whatever...unless everything is explained more in the next book im really not feeling this...
This had the potential to be a great story but it was too rushed. The author skipped too many important passages and for others didn't provided enough info.I'm going give it three stars and hope the next book is better.
There were too many scenes “told” and not properly built up or “shown.” – just things thrown in.REVIEWER’S OPINION:This is not a well done story. Too many characters introduced but not fleshed out. There were two bad guys. What was going on with them was unclear. On hindsight, I’m wondering if they were the same person. I don’t know. Some things about Lei were vague and unfinished. Why was she acting depressed? Did she know Bob from before? How did she get to his location? Apparently Lei had see...
Drako Alexandre is more than the handsome billionaire playboy he appears to be. He leads his generation of Black Gryffons, protectors of humanity. Although Drako has no desire to be tied down - except at the private bondage club he visits - he must take a wife to give him a son to lead the Black Gryffons in the future. He knows just the woman - Rin Mitchell, a delicate beauty who frees his intense primal hunger. The agreement they make will allow him to continue to enjoy the domination, forbidde...
RATING:4.5) DARKEST FIRE by Tawny Taylor is an exciting erotic romance/thriller(paranormal BDSM) with hot sexual scenes. First in The Black Gryffon series. It has betrayal,BDSM,deceit, passion, family, and romance. The three Alexandre Brothers (Drako,Talen, and Malek) are the keepers of the Black Gryffon "The Secret".Drako,is the leader of the Black Gryffons since their father has died. The Black Gryffon is a secret society that protects humanity, whose future depends and demands Drako marry to sire an...
Trust is the most integral and fragile component in Rin and Drako’s relationship throughout the pages of this book. That same trust is also the very foundation of the dominant/submissive lifestyle, and for me it is hard to see Rin impose upon those boundaries. The D/s aspect of this story is done mildly, but it adds just one more layer to a book already rife with longing, mystery, and the need to learn more will keep you coming back. More Black Gryffon stories are yet to come, but the results, I...
This is more 3.5 stars than 4, but it was an enjoyable book with interesting characters. It is obvious that there will be more in the series based on the vague ending, but it rounded off nicely enough. I will say that it took me a few chapters to become 'involved' but I'm glad that I stuck with it.
This was erotic romance, in comparison to other books I've read in this genre I had a hard time connecting to the story. The characters were ok but depth was missing making things ver 2D. I would read more from this author and give it another chance. Once again I didn't dislike it, unfortunately it didn't rock my boat. T
There was so much wrong with this book that it couldn't outweigh the few positive points, which was unfortunate because it the plot had potential. The underlying fantasy plot, while familiar, was not bad if poorly executed. The heroine was terrible, weak and unintelligent her sister was worse. I barely skimmed through the last half of the book, pretty much just to complete it and have no interest in reading anything else in the series.
I'd written a very long, very scathing, review of this book and then I hit one of my bookmark buttons by accident. Bye bye, review. I kinda want to cry now. Bad enough I had to suffer through this book and then I lose my five+ paragraphs on top of it? Heartbreaking. Here are the highlights:1. The back blurb is completely misleading. This is not a paranormal. Rin and Drakos do not know each other. Drakos does dom other subs, but he doesn't have intercourse with anyone but Rin. Rin has no big secr...

The story has its potential it's just that it felt that it needed more of something. it felt as if it was just statements not an actual story..
A leisurely walk through the BDSM scene. Rin and Drako are tied to their families' tradition. In Drako's case is guarding a powerful and secret object. As the leader of his generation of Black Gryffons, he is honor bound to produce sons who would follow the custodians' path, because of this, he must marry as soon as possible. In Rin's family, the tradition is the brutal practice of selling daughters to the sex trade. Trying to escape such fate, Rin studied and worked hard. However, her mother so...
I really dont know what to make of this book it was okay but I felt like I'm left with wanting more. I have a so many question at the end of this book that I felt should of be answered unless she's coming out with another book?
I couldn't finish this book. When BDSM is used without understanding, it shows. Also the characters become wooden and indecisive halfway through the story. I'm going to find something else.
At first, I was looking forward to reading this book; I saw it at an old bookstore and thought it looked tempting and appetizing. Turns out, reading it made me want to bang holes in my wall after I threw up. Characters are wooden, location is confusing, what the fuck was the brothers' precious "secret"? At best, the sex scenes were plain vanilla. I normally like guys who play hard to get, but Drako pissed me off. In truth, I couldn't even finish the book. I kept waiting for something to happen,
I really enjoyed this book. It was a little different and I wished that more time had been given to the Secret and the sisters of the 3 main characters but the story did not suffer. This book about Drako, the eldest of 3 bothers. Hopefully, there will be books for the other two brothers. It is hot and sexy with lots of emotional pull between the hero and the heroine.
The story was kind of weak and disjointed. It is irritating when characters act stupidly. I enjoyed it until about 2/3 of the way through then the story lost cohesion. The action/suspense portion of the story was weak.
