DNF @ 6% - Beware, Rant ahead...This was so annoying and was the first in a series of DNFs for me.Firstly, don't give me a prologue that basically summarizes the first large chunk of your book. The prologue was fine, then I had to read the entire story long and drawn out when you already told me what happened? I tried to read it... then I tried skimming it after I got bored... I made it about forty pages in before I decided I didn't care enough to continue. The characters were bad. The hero was o...
yes finally, coraline story. ive been waiting for this😍
3 starsI've enjoyed Meghan Quinn's teacher's books and I was looking forward to Cora and Pike's story. I loved the beginning. It's a troupe I love and I was having a blast listening to it. Unfortunately, it went downhill for me. Especially after the half way mark. Cora was unlikable for me throughout so much of the book. I felt bad for Pike and thought he deserved better. Anyways, Meghan Quinn is an author I adore and I'm sad this was more of a miss for me, but you can't win em' all. Audio bo...
more like put me out of my misery
My JOY has returned! GAAAaaaH!!Equal parts sexy, sweet and swoony, this story brought the joy of this world back into my heart and soul! This tight group of friends is JOYThis world Meghan created is JOYCora and Pike are JOYTheir story is JOYMy JOY for this world started in September of 2020 when I read Gunner’s novella and continued from there. Yes, I lost a bit of joy in Romeo’s story but in the big picture of this world, as a whole, it is joy tenfold!Coraline Turner has not had it easy in the...
Pike and Cora are a match made in rom-com heaven! God did I love this story!A drunken Vegas wedding that Cora wants annulled, yet Pike is desperate to hang on to...there's sure to be conflict, right? The way Cora tries to get stubborn Pike out of her life had me in stitches. So much banter between the two had me cracking up. And the plotting going on between Cora and her friends Stella and Greer on how to get Pike to give up on the marriage (some of it so diabolical) had me snickering. But the b...
Made me laugh and cry Story: ⭐⭐⭐⭐Trope: accidental marriageAngst: 😱😱😱😱😱Smexy: 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥Triggers: past suicide attemptI have to admit I'm really conflicted about this one. I struggled with the characters. Cora's behavior in the first third of the book was so over the top, it made it really difficult to get into the story. And the impending drama with Pike was an easy "avoidable if I just had a conversation" situation that we all see coming. Additionally, this book just felt way too long and made it d...
Everything about this seemed forced. It had its moments though. It I literally skimmed anything with Keiko in it, which was a lot. Seriously cannot stand that character.
I enjoyed the humor and the drama of this all! During Cora’s divorce-cation in Las Vegas, the newly single woman temps herself to have a wild night with her brother’s nemesis coworker, Pike after seeing him at the same restaurant. After many drinks and a whole lot of fun with the British naughty boy leads to a drive to a wedding chapel drive thru and once again Cora ends up being married. However, Pike refuses to be annulled! I’m such sucker for any marriage type of story and this was one except...
“You have given yourself to me, which means I get all of you, the past, your thoughts, your baggage. I want all of it. No holding back.”This book was funny, sexy and such amazing rom-com from Meghan Quinn.I always love the way Meghan writes and her characters and stories, this books wasn't the exception. Cora was an amazing character to read, and I love her friendship with Stella, Greer (I have to read their books) and Keiko (please, she is so nerd, was so funny, i love her). I love a book with
5 star review of Put Me In Detention by Meghan QuinnThere was so much witty banter, love and friendship reading Put Me In Detention that I was either laughing, smiling or swooning throughout. Celebrating her divorce in Las Vegas, Cora Turner sees Pike Grayson, a fellow teacher at the high school and one she has fantasized about, across a crowded room and decides to throw caution to the wind. After all, what could possibly happen? What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas, or does it?After to much dri...
Cora and Pike’s story has been my favorite out of this group! A drunken Vegas wedding , that turns into a secret relationship into something more. But there are plenty of ups and downs and laughs along the way. I loved Pike. He is the tattooed British bad boy history teacher. However, there is a lot more to him and I loved getting to know him throughout this story. Side note, I also loved his unlikely friendship with Keiko! I wasn’t expecting that, but I was all for it. I also really loved Cora....
DNFI didn't know this was attached to three other books, so I felt lost with the previous books characters. Also, Keiko is so ridiculously overdone with her robot personality, it felt like a bad joke.
Put Me in Detention is classic Meghan Quinn hilarity and sincerity- that laugh-out-loud, crazy-antic and banter-filled fun paired with a sexy and swoony romance that makes her books such a delightful escape. We’ve got the trademark wit and charm we’ve come to expect from any Meghan Quinn story in this fun visit to Forest Heights, and I quite enjoyed the lovable, at times ridiculous, chemistry between Cora and Pike. In a fun flip of the trope, Meghan starts our story with a Vegas trip that’s all
