A wonderful story from L J ROSS. It gives the reader everything. Romance. Intrigue and develops into a mystery that will leave everybody wondering what will happen next. With no D.C..I Ryan to help sort out who is causing trouble and even murder in this wonderful little area called The Cove. This wonderful group of people will have to band together to seek out the murderer, before the second person dies. The author certainly loves what she does with all the words at her disposal. And I thank he...
I enjoyed the first half of the book, but the second just seemed really silly and unbelievable. This traumatised woman -- who did she anger in a previous life to have all these people trying to kill her?! And for someone with PTSD and OCD, she leaps into a new relationship at a speed that gave me whiplash. I just felt it became 3 books in 1, and none of the threads worked together. Rather disappointing.
LJ Ross NEVER disappoints! The Cove was published yesterday in ebook and I devoured it in one sitting!Gabrielle Adams works in London in publishing, her boyfriend is an agent and she loves her job! Her world is turned completely upside down when she is pushed from a tube platform by an unknown assailant. This leads to a battle with PTSD, although the physical injuries begin to heal, the emotional and mental injuries Gabi suffers are still very much there. Needing a change, she escapes to Cornwall...
Rushed EndingWhilst I enjoyed this book, the characters being well developed I did feel a little cheated at the pace it came to a conclusion. It was as if someone had happily sketched out the storyline, started the development well then had to quickly finish it to a deadline. Everything was too stage managed to fit the ending
I didn't read the blurb for this book so I was very much expecting a cuteish story with some mystery based on the cover. Was I wrong or what! The Cove starts out as a book where the main character Gabby is starting a new life in the cornish seaside. She moves to the cove where everything is picturesque and everyone is happy to help. She had a very traumatic experience in London and this is the fresh start she needs. Until she witnesses something that quickly makes her doubt her decision. This was...
3.5*After an argument with her fiancé at the Frenchman Saunders Christmas party, Gabrielle Adams was left to take the tube home alone, despite the recent reports regarding two women who were pushed onto the train tracks. The assailant was still at large. Gabrielle became the third victim of the man the press had dubbed the Tube Killer.Six months later, still trying to cope with post traumatic stress disorder, nightmares and obsessive-compulsive disorder she has resigned from her job and was on a...
A quick easy read but highly unlikely. Beautiful Cornish setting. Was it a thriller or chick lit romance? A bit of both. Gabi survives an attempted murder, suffers trauma and is a nervous wreck. Escapes to Cornwall only to discover she has jumped from the frying pan into the fire. She falls in love with an artist but can she trust him. Her life is threatened again several times. As I say extremely unlikely but in true chic lit style it has a happy ending!
