Wow this book was non stop action, never letting you catch a breath. Much like the boys must have been. David was an absolute hoot, comfortable both in a dress and heels or a suit. I’m excited about the series. I hope we learn more about the world and the different factions of supernatural beings. Most of it was kept a mystery to the reader in this book. A lot of room to expand with exciting stories and characters.
This was one hell of a fantastic, beautiful, poignant, action packed, fast paced, five alarm flaming hot, grab-you-by-the-feels, amazing, emotionally charged, intriguing, intense, and totally awesome tale. Filled with mystery, danger, and more twists and turns than a roller coaster, it had me hooked from beginning to end. I would recommend getting this gem for yourself.
Trajan and David were interesting characters. A vampire and a warewolf is a set up most readers would think of as “unusual“. Most popular culture trains us to think of these two as enemies. In this world they don’t seem to be hateful towards each other just may be a little bit intolerant? I enjoyed the story and relationship building between T&D. There was a little resistance in the beginning, but that quickly became a situation of convenience. “we are running for our lives and we’re both horny
I really liked this, especially how the author did the POV switching. I read this real slow bc I wanted to savor it and I hope there's a sequel.
A Joyfully Jay review. 4.5 starsOooh, I really liked this one. I am a fan of vampire/shifter pairings and have been on a major urban fantasy kick lately, so this story grabbed my attention. And with interesting characters, lots of thrills and excitement, and plenty of heat, it kept me engaged throughout the book.Liv Rancourt has created a supernatural world filled with all sorts of creatures. In addition to our vampire and wolf, we meet an Amazon, a troll, pixies, and more. It is a world where
Trajan- Italian vampire that's over 170 years old, was grieving over the loss of his Irish soulmate Connor. Trajan was on the verge of suicide when he got called by his Sire to guard David, a femme werewolf and son of an alpha. The action started pretty soon and early in the book just moments after David arrived in LA. It's very hard to review without giving away spoilers but I did not expect that plot twist. The author was teasing me to the very end about a certain element in the story. I was s...
4 starsI enjoyed this one. It's hard to say too much as I don't want to give the plot awayIt took me a little bit to get into it, not because there was no action as the action started pretty much right from the start, but the narration style took me a little bit to get used to and we started with Trajan's point of view who is the driest of the bunch. It helped that the POV changed around the MC's as it gave us a chance to understand each of them and understand their motives a little as we navigat...
2.75 Stars rounded upI couldn't get into this book. It's a pity because ménage, paranormal, including a vampire, and some bodyguard work/a mystery element are massive drawcards for me. But it fell short. The ménage didn't work for me because the characters had no particular chemistry and I didn't especially like them.Trajan as a babysitter/bodyguard was as basic as can be. Good premise. Beautiful cover. Light reading.
Trajan, a vampire very close to opening the curtains and letting the sun take him. Then he gets a bodyguard job for a Werewolf named David. David wants fun in the sun and hoped there would be lots of sex before he has to grow up and take over for his Alpha father. Soon they are neck deep in a conspiracy to kill David. Then along comes Connor. Dead for two years and the grief Trajan still feels is the cause of him ready to end his life.World building was ok, but I wanted to know how the supernatu...
very good story... well written and kept me interested.. im slowly getting back into vampires and this one for sure has me interested again haha. has an awesome throuple... has mystery and paranormal.. plus it is fast paced and sexy haha. very good
3.75So I was going to DNF this book because no matter how hard I tried I just couldn’t get into it and it was going on months since I been trying to read it. Alas, I said let me read to my recommended 30% before I give up and to my surprise it picked up and I was eventually very invested. It’s not amazing by any sense of the word but it is entertaining and sometimes sexy and that was enough.
REVIEWED BY ULYSSES DIETZMEMBER OF THE PARANORMAL ROMANCE GUILD REVIEW TEAMLiv Rancourt’s agenda in “Soulmates” is not what it appears to be at first. She puts us in an America where supernatural creatures are just part of the complex texture of life (or, as it happens, death). Specifically, we meet 175-year-old vampire Trajan Gall, Los Angeles club owner and landlord. Trajan is summarily requested by his maker (a much older and richer denizen of the Hollywood Hills) to act as bodyguard (i.e. ba...
I received an ARC in exchange for a fair review ... I was intrigued by this book from the start: there's a vampire, there's a femme alpha werewolf, there's a (not really) dead past lover, it's gay as all get out, there's intrigue, there's romance, there's supernatural politics. I was on board for all that could happen in Liv Rancourt's "Soulmates."Lucky for me, and lucky for you, too, Liv delivers on all accounts. The world-building and character development are realized and realistic, with beli...
I love this new world that Rancourt has created! There is so much to explore here, and I hope we will get the opportunity with many future books.David is amazing, I love how completely he believes in himself and his right to live the life that will make him happiest. Trajan is wonderful, dealing with never-ending life and the challenges that presents, but never closing himself off from the opportunity to live and live to the fullest. Connor fascinates me, I am looking so forward to hearing more
This story was definitely a grower. It took a while, but the more I read, the more intrigued and delighted I became. Also, it’s probably the most believably organic formation of a threesome I’ve ever encountered. Kudos to Rancourt! So, Trajan is a 175 year old vampire on the verge of committing suicide by sun due to grief over his dead lover Connor. But when he is tasked by his sire to keep a young alpha werewolf safe for a week, he’s instantly distracted from his dark thoughts. Not only is Da...
I absolutely loved it, it was so freaking good. We come to find out that Trajan lost his soulmate several years ago & he is done, he is ready to walk into the sun and end it all. When his sire contacts him with a job, he decides that he can do one more job. David is going on vacation and his father, who is the Alpha of all werewolves, hires him to protect his son. As soon as David lands, all hell breaks loose. We are then lead on a crazy ride of David & Trajan running from those who are out to k...
3 starsThis book got a lot of great reviews. And I can appreciate the reasons why. It was well written and included many things I enjoy. Like paranormal, vamps and shifter relationships, femme characters, and action. What I missed, though, we’re the Feels. I need Feels. I felt the author spent so much time with the mystery and action, all that was left were sex scenes. I also completely missed the 3rd character on the cover. So I was surprised when I saw the story going in an MMM direction. I MAY...
Wow! This book was so good, my first by Liv Ravencourt but definitely not my last. From the first page of this supernatural romance I was drawn into the story, the characters were coming to life right before my on the pages of this book and drawing me into their drama. This made it so very difficult to put this book down, because I was so engrossed in the story had to read on wishing it would never end, but alas I finish it with a satisfied sigh, thinking to myself it's ok, I can always read it
There’s a lot going on in this book but the author guides you through all the characters and situations in a very purposeful way. Each MC gets a chunk of the book to give you the events in their POV. This works very well. David is definitely an Alpha werewolf and yet has a very vulnerable side. Trajan is the broody vampire set up to watch David. Connor is a mystery until he decided to reveal his true self. This book gives you pieces of the puzzle but still leaves you guessing which I actually li...
Wow. Just wow. This book was intense and amazing! I wasn’t 100% prepared for the full extent of this book but I loved it all the same! The vampire Trajen is coerced into acting as a bodyguard for the visiting son of the American Alpha. Nevermind he was getting ready to walk into the sun and end his miserable broken-hearted existence. He hasn’t cared for much since his lover Connor was killed. Now he is dealing with a young werewolf who is determined to party as hard as he possibly can in LA befo...
