This was a cute book about a simple toy that my children still love, magic grow toys. A sweet message about friendship and a cute punch line at the end that my children loved.
A boy's dinosaur toy grows to be too big for his house, but eventually saves the day in his enormous size. Might be perplexing if kids aren't familiar with the kind of toys that "grow" when you soak them in water. Would also work for discussing wet vs. dry!

The illustrations in this book are adorable from the first page showing a little boy on the floor of his messy bedroom. I had fun seeing some of the same images repeated throughout like the snake in the window on page 1 hiding in the mattress on another page then under the bed later on. Matt Myers pens a wonderful tale that is sure to grow in the hearts of readers for years to come. Hunter has a few little dinosaurs that grow in water… but they don’t get that big! He loved the story and watching the Dino get bigger and bigger over time. I liked the illustration style, the pictures are very pretty to look at.

Humorous look at a toy dinosaur who grows every time it gets wet. Readers will connect with this and enjoy watching the dinosaur's antics. They may note mom's growing pregnancy as it grows too. Terrific to talk about healthy growth and body care. Love the ending when the dinosaur tries to make the baby sister grow too.
