Yeah for solid (if not horrific) explanations. Men are evil but alas magic is unpredictable and things not meant to happen happen.
Before diving into the story, the cover for this issue is simultaneously beautiful and horrifying. I'm a big fan. The witch goes up to the home on top of the mountain with the Foreman. He tries to get her to drink the water, which erases memories, but she screams for help, leading to his arrest and demise. She stays at the home to help her cope with this traumatic experience, and she meets the witch Circe, who teaches her witchy ways to the young girl. She goes home and doesn't age. Eventually,
I don't know what I was expecting with respect to Shudder-to-Think's secret, but this was not it at all. I was really surprised by the direction that this issue took. It was shocking but compelling and enthralling. I really liked the character development through this issue and it made me like El and Vee even more. Although it made me angry, I would highly recommend this issue and this series. A fantastic, compelling, and dark read.
I really want to protect El and Vee at all costs. They also should really get out of this town. Learned a lot in this issue. Only one more left!
In this issue, we learn the origin story of Shudder-to-think and of the young witch.It was an interesting read with some surprising twists and turns.I like the series far better now. Definitely worth a read.
Haven't really been enjoying this series as much as the other Hill House comics but this was the best issue so far. Explains everything and brings the reader up to speed
