"I wanted so badly to wield power and change the world, I didn't concern myself with the consequences." OMG... this was just as beautiful as I had hope it would be. It gave the perfect ending for the whole ordeal, sure, but, more importantly, it treated my girl Kuvira with all the love and justice she deserved. I really fell in love with her character. Her growth and character arc are some of the best things ever. She was compelling at every moment of her journey and I felt her and un
Actual review: 4.5I loved the conclusion to this comic series. Even though I found it a little bit rushed towards the end, the story was interesting and action-packed. I love the characters and to me, their individual journeys made sense. I believe that is the biggest compliment I can give a series that takes over from a completely different medium. This story could have benefitted from an additional edition so that the pacing is done right, but that’s more of a preference rather than a criticis...
So cute 😭❤❤
Ruins of the Empire, Part Three is an interesting close to this Legend of Korra series. I was really pleased with how the democratisation storyline played out and Wu's speech contrasted well with his speech in Part One. As for Kuvira's ending, that's definitely more polarising and my gut instinct was to question it, but I can see why things happened that way and the value in it. Part Three also had some really great art!
*4.5Well, that was very good. And my Mako/Wu ship is set in stone now, so that's great.I feel like, after all that Kuvira did, this series is working really overtime to redeem her, but she's not an uninteresting character to follow. (view spoiler)[I just wish we had some more closure on that Kuvira/Bataar plotline, especially now. (hide spoiler)]I just feel like, as did the ATLA comics, these comics always tend to focus overtime on the romances and not the friendships. It's honestly pretty annoyi...
Really great end to this storyline, has a good mix of cute moments with all the characters and wrapping up the political plotlines from the first two volumes.
3.5/5 - This installment seemed a little rushed unfortunately, but I’m pretty happy with how they handled this sequel from the original series. But I absolutely needed more Korra and Asami, hopefully there’ll be another series in the future!
Well, the graphics were beautiful. The story mostly worked, however... It felt a bit rushed. Overall the idea that Kuvira was impulsive, brazen and hard to manage since she was a child was well presented, but it definitely needed more space. I liked that Opal, who's such a nice girl,(view spoiler)[turned out to be at times bratty and jealous towards her adoptive sister (?) Kuvira to a point that at times she was just nasty to her. I guess, that's how it is sometimes with biological and adoptive
★ 3.0 Stars ★There were so many storylines to this trilogy that I really enjoyed, but I feel like most, if not all of them, ended very rushed. This is of course down to the fact that the storylines are spread across three seventy-something-page comics, which in my opinion is waaaay to short for the kind of story they were going with in this trilogy. Also, in regards to the whole Asami-brainwashing thing, I kind of wish they would have written in more angst lmao. Like, at least make it have some k...
thank you god above for kuvira thank you god above that she is healthy and surrounded by friends thank you god above for making her so sexy amen
RedemptionFantastic as always. Such a great installment. I look forward to reading more in the future. This series has always been great though.
Wow, this entire comic was really good. That’s all I have to say
(c/p from my review on TheStoryGraph) These have been a really great addition to the LoK series. I like the way this comic wraps up a lot of things, I also love the subtle way they allow Korra and Asami to be sexual without making it even a little bit ACTUALLY sexual. I know that LoK is not everyone's favorite in the Avatar world but these comics continue to prove to me that there is so much that is interesting to explore in the LoK world and that the characters are worth getting to know and exp...
This was mostly Kuvira-centric and I have no complaints. A satisfying end to the series but I still wish there was more!
Nice ending for a redemption story. This arc is more Kuvira's journey than Korra but I love it. Gosh, how I miss this Avatar world. Looking forward to the next comics.
The Ruins of the Empire storyline was much better than the Turf Wars one. I definitely enjoyed it more.
Once Asami has fallen under Commander Guan's brainwashing Korra goes beside herself. Everyone has to flip their switches to prevent the Earth Kingdom from falling into shambles. All the while the one person who once called herself the Great Uniter might be scheming something. Or perhaps there is something else at at stake? ─── ・ 。゚:☆. *.☽ .* :☆゚. ───First off it took me forever to pick this up because of my dreadful reading slump and I wanted to go into this book with a clear head. I was already...
why did they have to make kuvira so sexy
This is everything I love about ATLA and LOK. Redemption, admitting fault, sitting with emotions. There are no easy outs, but redemption and change are always possible. Traits that constituted a character's villainy can be turned into an asset for good. This is one of my favorite comic arcs. I love Kuvira.
I enjoyed Kuvira’s transformation, but I’m not a huge fan of the plot that got her there. It felt hockey and easy in terms of the morality being so stark and without as much nuance as I’ve enjoyed from the Korra villains and villain plots from the show. So far I’m not a huge fan of Korea’s comics.
