Descendant of Chaos was a typical ride to insta connections RH that may have had a one liner plot but even that is pushed in the background for 95% of the time in favour of going mushy feel for the girl. I think the "chaos" part made me curious the most, I mean the damn name of the book itself gives away a pretty good idea of what Nova's snowflake status would be and I was interested in seeing that play out. I think the contrasting controlled persona Nova is trying to portray to her actual chaot...
Lets start this with saying that i thoroughly enjoyed this book. This series will be the 5th series from this author that i would now have read. My favourite thing is crossovers, whether in books or tv series, i love a good crossover episode ( thinking of you DC universe). The Descendant series is set in the same universe as The Red Masques, Vengeance and Tears of the cosmo's, but you dont have to read them to understand the story. ( no but really the other series are awesome and worth checking
Wow!!!!Ok so I'm going to start by saying I love Nova!! That chick is bad! But in a good way for sure. Her attitude and just all around comedic personality is what made this book! Oh who am I kidding, the guys helped out alot! I love how this group dynamic works. It is so unlike any other RH I have read. This book truly has it all and I cannot wait to see what happens next. If you love a good RH with a seriously strong female lead, sexy extreme alpha guys, magic, and humor this book is for you!!...
I have no idea why I did not read this sooner! I was instantly hooked when Nova’s real personality shined and the guys were introduced. As always, M Sinclair gives us an interesting and intriguing plot with a great balance of characters with her larger harems. Love it! On to book 2!
Ok. I dont normally write reviews but I think for this book I need to make an exception. This is one of the worst written books I've ever finished. The plot has definite potential and kept me going until the end because I just wanted to see where it ended up. This book could definitely be something good but pretty much every single aspect of this book other than the plot needs improvement. I've read some later stuff by M. Sinclair and enjoyed her work, however this isn't it. The main character (...
Freaking. Awesome. I need the next book now.
Descendant of Chaos was so much fun to dive into. Honestly anything with witches and gods will probably always intrigue me. So it's safe to say that Nova was a pretty interesting person. Although her father, a huge douche canoe, and John, another douche canoe, can rot in hell for like ever. Not a huge fan of either of them and I hated how the manipulated Nova. It just really pissed me off folks. Then there's the romance which had it's pros and cons. Some things definitely made me cringe and other...
I found this book problematic, it really trivializes some serious situations.Constantly throughout the book something would happen, probably some kind of abuse or otherwise crummy thing and the lead would be like I'm upset! Until the scene was over and then it was just done with. The first half of the book was really good, the second half felt like a different author. The second half of the book character continuity really becomes a problem, even with our female lead and most of the plot is sort...
Wat happend? Why ? How could you mess it up that much?First half got me, like really got me it was promising, interesting setting for a good story.I was like wow this book got me hooked fast, it could be super cool. Turned out super dissapointing instead. A waste of time. It could have been good but there is 1 thing that RH authors dont seem to have this days. Restraint, just dont make her (view spoiler)[ allpowerful/immortal/blyatiful god child on steroids (hide spoiler)] she can still be amaz...
Oh my goodness, I so enjoyed this book. It did take an unexpected turn but it was still a good read, to say the least. I do hope the author will keep the momentum going with the excitement I found in this book. Please oh please M. Sinclair don't make us wait too long for the release dates for the continuation of this series. I consider myself a loyal and patient person when it comes to book series to a certain point and then I'm out. Please take my words into consideration hmm.... (Gosh, I wonde...
I don’t understand how this book has such a good rating. DNF 48% There’s really no relationship building between the characters. She sees them and it’s insta lust. She talks about her powers as if they are human “my power stood up and batted her eyes” umm. No thanks .
I liked this much more than I thought I would, so I would give this 4.5*The first series of her's i read is The Red Masques. That series I like a lot but I don't love it all the time just because A. in that RH there are 10 guys! Way to many..... Although in this book I think the girl may end up with 7.B. Sometimes I am not a fan of the pacing of the story as a feel that things move too slowly. And, in some books there are way to many sex scenes that are too long. Some people like that. But, I do...
3.5 Stars I really did enjoy this story. I kept putting off reading it because my moods change much like the weather here in VA. One moment I could be like yaaas that sounds amazing and the next I could be like “Why did I want to read this again?” So yeah. Any who. So Nova’s character gives me whiplash. It’s not in the worse way it’s just very sudden. So at first you get this reserved but sort of feisty Nova who stands up to Mages. Mainly because she has no idea they are “working” for her father...
This book is terrible but I'm kinda into it?When I leave a review I try to tell others what I'd like to know from a review but honestly this one is really hard to put into words. I absolutely loathe the first few chapters and I can't point to a part and say that was The best bit. The FMC is annoying and has more personalities than a circus, one of which veers towards the all to perfect Mary Sue, and the guys kind of all blur together to a point I couldn't tell you who was who or who were related...
Sweet but a little bit psychoI really love the world this author created and how different series are set in the same universe. The main characters in Descendant of Chaos are a little bit loco in the coconut and I love it. Growly, overprotective men are my thing, especially when they know what they want (or who they want, being the FMC in this case) and are not afraid to fight for her. Combine these a-ma-zing characters with a compelling plot and you know you're in it to stay.
Read the first book and DNF'd the second at 85%, just no interest in continuing.Okay. Used for an escape and went down author's backlist. Thing is, book was only okay, and not worth it. I should know better by now; I need to only read books that are good enough that I will really enjoy them, books genuinely worth my time.I'll pass on future books by this author. And I'm kicking myself, I had DNF'd a prior book of hers in March and noted on Goodreads to skip this author; I should have checked fir...
