Interesting Super fast read! Being from Hudson Valley I felt a connection to the story and had an instant like for the characters. Without giving anything away I found it a truly likable story that moved fast and held my interest. This book would make a great “B” movie!!

OSCAWANA by Frank Martin is a wonderful monster "movie" novel about a brother and sister pair who go to live with their uncle Ken on the shores of lake Oscawana. From the very moment they meet, April senses there's something "off" about her Uncle Ken and how he's uncomfortably touchy-feely but he gradually wins them over with her his gifts as well as "cool uncle" vibe. Certainly, he's a lot more attentive and loving than her actual mother and dad who have dumped the children there for the Summer...

Fun read!A nice monster story. Hoping for a sequel soon with some reunions! Would be a fun movie, I had a little difficulty picturing Oscar. But imagining the beautiful scenery was easy.
Had to stop the book within the first couple of chapters. The sinister aspect happened to be the uncle starting to molest his niece and I was out. It may be a good book but it caused me to have flashbacks of my own abuse and I was not going to go through that again.

It was an OK readThe lead up to the climax was slow. I wish I could’ve gotten more of the story from the monster’s POV. I liked how the author made the monster lovable. Just a nice quick read for someone looking for a monster story.
