This is a wonderful EMP apocalypse story. There are exciting action parts and also tragedy parts. When it is all put together it is really really good. I had to read it in one sitting. The story has the roaming gangs who attack and kill wantonly and a small town that has to protect itself. The characters are great and the ending is too. The twist in the plot will take you all the way to the end.
I'm not sure I'd continue with this series if I wasn't already buying the books for my daughter. There are parts that are good, but overall it's just ok.Liam's continuous circle of thoughts gets old really fast, so I prefer him in action mode, or just seen through the eyes of Hannah. Ghost the dog continues to be awesome.Noah is still meh, bordering on terrible. I hope there's more focus on Bishop in the next book, he makes Noah a little more bearable.Quinn is the best character, and I love her
Wow, things are getting worse in town. What bothers me the most is that Noah sees it happening and doesn't speak out. The woman running things knows how to keep him quiet, get his son the medicine he needs and makes sure to subtly let him know they will get him more. I get it, as a parent there is much you wouldn't do for your kid. I love how Quinn is seeing things too, how Noah doesn't speak up and I think she is starting to loose respect for him. But it's Grandma Molly who is my hero in this o...
While this entry isn't quite as stellar as the previous three 5-star reads in the series, it ain't like it sucked. Not in the least. It was still a fantastic 4-star read that kept me on the edge of my seat in more ways than one, some of those ways good, and some of them a bit less than good. Not bad. Never bad. I'm still LOVING these stories, and it's so far not slowing down. My interest hasn't waned and I'm totally very much invested in where it's gonna go. For this go around, we get all the ch...
Jaw Dropping!! Definitely 5 out of 5 Stars Kyla Stone keeps surprising me with the twists and suspense. I think Pike has more lives than a cat, but so does Liam, Hannah, and Ghost. In order to really feel this story, you must first get into the characters, then you will actually begin to smell the trash, crap, blood, at the killers compound. You Begin to feel the numbness from the freezing weather while Liam, Hannah, and Ghost are being chased by Pike. But you also feel the closeness between Mil...
This is another highly addictive series I am really into at the moment, so as soon as I knew it was available to read, I wanted it! I ended up with a migraine with all the stress of the present situation in the world or I would have read it even quicker than in three reading sessions. I warn you it will be one you will hate to have to put down!I think the covers are really great, well thought out and represent the series well as well as being cohesive as a series too. The genres I have seen list...
The Edge of Collapse series is one of the best for fans of fast-paced post-apocalyptic EMP fiction.
Loved that the first book introduced one set of characters, the second book introduced another set of characters, and the third book intertwined both sets of characters.
ONE OUTSTANDING JOURNEY!!!Sensational! Kyla unleashes all the shenanigans, close calls, snags, bedlam and mayhem taking you on one thrilling ride as this bad boy plays out spectacularly. Satisfaction is an understatement, this baby comes packing a punch, exposing all those churning emotions running rampant, twining those heartstrings, keeping you riveted on a razors edge. This baby showcases 100% on point realism, kicking up a churning vortex chocked-full of vexing circumstances and a slew of un...
This has been my favorite book so far, I just can’t say why and what all we find out without giving away too muc.We have Liam, Hannah & Ghost trying to get away from Pike, so of course things happen that slow them down getting to Fall CrrekThe (and I have an idea, but am not positive) a group of militia come into Falls Crrek to help the town, but are they helping themselves and just a few people in tow. I love the interaction between Quinn and Milo and then throw in Quinn’s grandmother and Milo’...
This is book three of the Edge of Collapse series and follows both Liam, Hannah and Ghost, as well as Quinn, Milo and Noah. Their stories are now being told in the same book and you get to see them edging closer together as the journey home continues. Liam and Hannah are recovering after the attack in the library and need to find some treatment for Ghost who was badly injured, protecting Hannah from Pike. Life for Noah and his son Milo is changing and maybe not for the good of the community. Noa...
Another awesome installment in a great series! I love the characters and the storyline. In this book, she begins to bring the characters from the first two books more closely together. Hannah, Liam and Ghost are still on the run from Pike and Quinn, Noah and Milo are just trying to survive back in Fall Creek.Kyla Stone has created likeable (or hateable) characters that you can relate to and cheer for (or against!) You will feel all of the emotions: fear/terror, hatred, love, and hopelessness. I
Things are ramping upIt's frustrating when you feel for characters and want the best outcome, but can see the trials and tribulations they have coming. I say that in the best way which is one of the signs of a good book in my opinion. I look forward to the next book in the series and only hope that June comes quickly.
Great in PartsEdge of Darkness is a good addition to the Edge of Collapse universe, picking up right from where both the stories left and trying to present them concurrently in a coherent manner. It did start a little slow, however, it made up for that in the latter half. The Liam-Hannah part of the story was phenomenal and spellbinding throughout. The Fall Creek part was kind of a mixed bag: the story following Quinn was quite interesting due to her character and the events that took place, how...
A week after an EMP left them with no power or electronics of any kind, Hannah is still struggling to be free from her past and find her way home. Liam, the man who found her in the woods and saved her life, is helping her find her way while Ghost, the giant white dog, has a serious wound he acquired while protecting Hannah from her captor who continues to hunt her. Ghost isn’t the only one hurt, as Hannah has bumps and bruises as well. They must find help for him; she can’t handle losing Ghost....
