I enjoyed this one far more than the previous 4 installments of the Shades of Magic comics. Things are about to get interesting...
This built up such a great interest in what’s to come next! I can’t wait to see where it goes!
Alright, I'm excited now. This is no longer the Steel Prince arc, but the Night of Knives arc. This new arc sounds great, I love me some magic tournaments! There's not a whole lot going on in this issue, other then the set up for the new arc. But, there is a lot of Maxim wanting the respect of his soldiers (and wanting to train them up) instead of the forced respect or fear of the crown.
I may actually have to bump the ratings I gave the previous arc (#1-4) down to 4 or 4.5 because this installment has set up a plot nicely and the stakes of it are pretty high. I think the comics in general are a fun addition to this world.
A really great set up for the rest of the comics.
.............3.5 ⭐️.............And we have a return to cocky Maxim! Oh the joy 😒. But at least this time we can see why some of that cocky attitude is there. Also? He’s a little dumb to not follow Isra’s advice. This is getting a solid three and a half stars.
This series fascinates me more and more. It's awesome!
Second bundle of The Steel Prince comic books, the Night of Knives continues the back story of King Maxim Maresh of A Darker Shade of Magic fame. This forging story tells the tale of how, as Prince Maxim, he fared in the trial of the Night of Knives.
I absolutely love Maxim! I'm really excited for this arc! The night of knives sounds crazy and it's nice to know we might get some more Antari time soon 🙈Seriously loving this series! Cannot put it down 😂
Still loving these. I'm excited to be starting the next chapter in the series. Artwork is still gorgeous and I like the idea behind this story. Can't wait to see what the Night of Knives has in store.
The art is much better in this! The action scenes are easier to follow and the flashbacks were well done. Plus, I am excited to see what happens with the Night of the Knives. This seems like a chance for more character depth to go into Maxim!
And this art makes me think it worth everything!Finalky, we have to move to other problemática que acontece en la ciudad... los soldados no creen en Maxim, so he has to prove them wrong or he will die trying it.
Another good story. Felt like I understood the characters more.
Wow, this plot sounds interesting. I'm all into the series now!!!
I am less excited about this part
You cannot be their better and their equal.Prince Maxim is staying in Verose even after the pirate queen is dead. He wants to change things around here and wants the soldiers to train properly but the soldiers don't respect him and they think that he is a danger here in Verose. There's also someone who's been killing the soldiers and Maxim finds out who it is. And to win the soldiers' respect, he gets a suggestion and it is called Night of Knives. The story continues from The Steel Prince and I
3.5 stars...I don't know why they change the artist in the next next volumes but thank the Gods I liked this art. The plot is thickening so far.
I like this start up more than I liked the entirety of the The Steel Prince.I love how reckless the prince is and how he just runs into danger trying to prove himself. It's idiotic of him, but highly entertaining for the reader.
You know any time someone's eye is compromised in a way in this world its very clear this person is Antari.
Getting back into this series and I was pleasantly surprised. Yes, it's ANOTHER tournament/trial, but it ends up going somewhere else.
