A quick computer search on Jewish roots of the Christian faith will reveal numerous books on the theme. Unfortunately they are all based around the belief that the Church can trace her existence back to her Jewish roots. While there is a great deal of truth in that teaching, there is also a degree of error. Many believers fail to realize that there was a span of two thousand years preceeding the birth of Israel as a nation. The great cloud of witnesses we read about in the book of Hebrews include Abel, Enoch, Noah, and Abraham. None of these men were Jewish, yet all were examples of godly men of faith. The purpose of this book is to explore some of the roots that eventually gave birth to the nation of Israel and subsequently the Church.
