Jamie Wilson is a writer and feminist activist and Andrea Pippins is a writer and illustrator. In this thought-provoking, empathic and inspirational book aimed at girls aged 9+ (although there’s a lot here that boys would benefit from too) they set out 23 lessons for children to feel more powerful, from learning self-care techniques to standing up for themselves and facing down their fears, which a lot of adults would benefit from learning too.

Note: I received a digital review copy of this book from the publisher through NetGalley.
Older elementary and middle school kids will find this book useful. How to stick up for yourself, ask for help, dealing with bullies, and taking care of yourself.
This is an amazing book both for young activists, as well as though just thinking about what they want to do with their lives a this point. The subtitle sort of says it all. How to live your best life. This is not only for you, and your self care, but also for your life in your community. Some self-care advice you don't realize until later in life. As the book says, "Be you, not perfect."Good for all young people, but mainly aimed towards women, who often could use this kind of advice. Thanks to Ne...
The best parts about this book is the constant reinforcement of being who you are and growing more confident in using your voice. I like the blunt, matter of fact, in your face advice to just be yourself.
This book is great for kids starting to come into their own and understand their independence. How they can make their mark in the world. Beautifully illustrated and the writer really relates to kids with her own perspective and experiences.
