Great readVery good artwork! Great story! Will definitely be following sideways! Glad this is a part off the DC family! Definitely one i will recommend¡
I like the art the most in this title. And as a super-hero start-up, this did the job though it wasn't wholly memorable. This is the first Metal tie-in with DC's new line of heroes and it's nice to finally see how Metal does associate after the branding. I found this pretty cliche otherwise. Kid with new powers, unable to relate to family and peers. I like how we got a bit of social media in, but pity might be the only thing thus far endearing me to our protagonist. I mean, as an introduction to a character...it was alright. Honestly, this just feels like a DC clone of Spire-Man right now.
Read because it was recommended by Richard C. Meyer of the "Diversity & Comics" YouTube channel! Shame the series later devolves into a whining screed against criticism. :/ #movetheneedle
Really interesting set up. I like Sideways' power, and his suit is pretty neat. I kinda like that DC's New Age of Heroes is their version of some Marvel's heroes (the Silencer is kinda like Black Widow, Sideways is a mix of Spider-man and Nightcrawler, Damage is obviously Hulk, The Terrifics are the Fantastic Four, etc etc etc), it's a really interesting concept and they've been pretty good so far.
This is promising

3.5 stars Of all DC’s New Age of Heroes, Sideways has the most direct connection to the Dar Nights Metal series (so far). And I really liked that. This first issue is mostly exposition and setup, and while I am interested to see where things go, I don’t feel super connected to the characters yet. This might not be the fairest assessment being only the first issue, but I’m not sure I’m going to stick with the series. I may give one more issue a go and decide from there. So far this skews for a yo...
Read a preview, liked that. Picked this up, not sure how I feel about the huge dark circles the characters have/the art in general/the everything else that wasn’t in the preview. Eh who knows, it could be good.
