A collection of short black and white art Batman stories. Some were better than others, while the last story has been in quite a few other Batman compilations. Oldie but a goodie. I love the black and white art, it gives better detail in what they are trying to convey.
I'm still deciding if I really enjoy the collection of shorter stories. I like having multiple takes on the bat, yet sometimes, when the styles are close, as in this collection, I get a little lost. I'm sure as I continue on this will clear up.
It's a great cover but what does it mean, Jim Steranko?! Rafael Grampa's story of Joker sending in wave after wave of goons into Wayne Manor has a nice twist at the end and amazing art, while Michael Uslan and Dave Bullocks' Silent Knight...Unholy Knight! has wonderfully retro art and a different direction Batman could've gone had his circumstances been different. A word of warning - skip the Dan Didio story if you can, it is horrible. Read the full review here!
