Is Water Baptism Necessary for Salvation?: Baptismal Regeneration contrasted with Justification by Grace through Faith Alone

Is Water Baptism Necessary for Salvation?: Baptismal Regeneration contrasted with Justification by Grace through Faith Alone

0/5 ( ratings)
Is water baptism necessary for salvation? What about being baptized in the Holy Spirit with speaking in tongues? There are certain groups which have come on the scene recently insisting that simply believing on the Lord Jesus Christ and His finished work on the cross is not sufficient for salvation, but that one must additionally be baptized in water and in the Holy Spirit with speaking in tongues. This has caused much confusion among believers who have been taught that through the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ alone we are saved .
In the following pages the author demonstrates that salvation is based entirely upon what Christ Jesus did for us on the cross 2,000 years ago and not upon anything which we do for Him. All Scriptures related to baptism in water and in the Spirit are examined in order to establish beyond any doubt that they follow salvation, rather than obtain it.
The teachings of Torben Søndergaard, founder and leader of Last Reformation will be quoted from. Nevertheless, it is not the author’s intention to be polemic but rather to clarify that our salvation is by grace through faith alone. This group is mentioned simply because it has caused many sincere believers to doubt their Christian experience and even their own salvation simply because they have not been water baptized a certain way or experienced what Torben refers to as the baptism in the Spirit with speaking in tongues.
