Miguel Alvarez wanted only one thing in life - to be a Texas Highway Patrolman just like his father. Ernesto Alvarez was a legend in the force, but Big Ernie didn’t want his son to follow in his footsteps. When Miguel told his father of his desire to become a police officer too, his old man urged him to reconsider. His father felt that no one respected the badge anymore, and there were safer ways to make a living than cruising the long Texas highways with a target pinned to your back. Miguel respected his father deeply, but couldn't give up the dream of one-day wearing the badge and riding alongside his Papi. He became a member of the Texas Highway Patrol against his father's wishes only to find out that everything his Dad said was true.
