Because Antonia always lend money to others without interest and help Shylock’s daughter to elope, Shylock takes this opportunity to revenge him and pretends not to ask interest, but if Antonio couldn’t pay back the money within the limit, he would cut down a pound of meat from Antonio’s body. Unfortunately, the news that Antonio’s merchant ship crashes spreads, which makes Antonio be in a financial strait and unable to repay the loans. Shylock accuses him on the court and asks him to fulfill his promise according to the laws. To save Antonio’s life, the fiancée of Basanio disguises herself as the lawyer and appear to the court. She consents Shylock’s request and requires that the meat he cuts must be only one pound, which can neither be more or less and there is no bleeding. Because Shylock couldn’t perform it, he loses a lawsuit and loses his property for victimization.
