Dead But Living: Understanding Christ's Life In You

Dead But Living: Understanding Christ's Life In You

The Bible, in my opinion, is the best source of information about being at peace with God so I have rephrased the letters of Galatians and James to serve two purposes; for those that have never heard, it is a road map explaining how to be accepted by and at peace with God, and for those that have heard, it is a roadmap for devotion and living the highest possible quality of life.

The background for the book is God's instruction to Adam "Don't eat from the Knowledge tree." carried the death penalty. God gave his law to Moses and any infraction of the law was sin, which carried the death penalty. God sent his son Jesus and he proved it was possible to live and keep the law. Jesus was not a lawbreaker, therefore, the law could not condemn him to death. God loves us, and God said that he would exchange the death of the sinless Jesus for all the sins of all the lawbreakers; past, present, and future. God proved that Jesus's death was acceptable to him by raising him from the dead!

Against this background the rephrasing of Galatians details how people can accept Jesus' death in exchange for their own and in doing so they become dead to God's demanding law - they died with Jesus. Those that accept Jesus' death are dead to the law, yet they are living before God because of Jesus' resurrection.

For those that are living before God the rephrasing of James details how to live the highest possible life and how to demonstrate our trust in God by the things we do.
