Charming fable for all ages. Old Man Hark has lived longer than most, and is marked in Death's book for a "quiet, gentle, peaceful" demise this winter, so (view spoiler)[when he tells Death that the birds depend on him until spring, and that therefore he won't go willingly, the birds help him evade Death for the few months until they can fend for themselves. Wonderful, touching and ageless story for everyone, regardless of age. A true classic.
Favorite children's book
I read this one online - not my favourite way to enjoy a book. Not quite what I had hoped really. I found it a light treatment of a heavy subject.
Cute story about an old man getting the upper hand on death.
