Originally posted at You Have Your Hands FullAll three of my girls love Star Wars, but one of my 6.5-year-old twins really likes Star Wars. She has several Star Wars books, and when I saw I Am A Pilot at our town library, I brought it home for her. I Am A Pilot is one of three Little Golden Books in a semi-connected series. The other two titles in the series are: I Am A Droid, and I Am A Jedi. I Am A Pilot introduces children to various pilots in the Star Wars universe, and discusses their attri...
Ugh. Seriously? Again? Still? This is a little kids' book about the talented and passionate pilots of the star Wars universe- ALL movies. So... Where's Rey? Why are there ZERO females in this new line up of Star Wars themed Little Golden Books?(At least, the ones I've seen: this one and "I am a Jedi" and "I am a Droid", which yes, contains many images of humans in addition to droids but has just one little Leia standing placidly in a group of white men on the last page; I haven't read the "I am a...
A fun gift for my son. I read it to him first and now he is reading it like a champ. Great for a beginning reader (level 1 or 2). My son is an avid Star Wars fan so beginning books like these are great to help nurture a love of reading.
A really enjoyable Little Golden book all about the different pilots in the Star Wars universe. Beautiful illustrations and great descriptions, easy for any interested reader.
You guys, this book is bad. Don’t let all of the shiny spaceships (ahem, Millennium Falcon, mmmm), and awesome pilots (HAN SOLO AND POE DAMERON) distract you from the problems. Full review here: http://yepireadthat.tumblr.com/post/1...
I absolutely LOVE this story! Even better is that my 4 year old sat through the entire reading without getting up to play! The story kept him engaged and he wanted me to read it over and over again.
I do not know if this has as much impact on a new reader as much as it does for a parent or grandparent that saw the New Hope in the beginning.
I love Poe Dameron. I love Han Solo. I got way too emotional when I saw the picture of old Han Solo. I love Chewbacca. But WHERE IS REY? Why is the only woman in this entire book Queen Amidala being escorted onto a ship? Not that I don't love Padmé, but really?
The Disney machine is in full force to create a new generation of Star Wars fans. Little Golden books has a several books geared to introducing little ones to the space opera. The books are super simple and easy to read. It's a cute series, it should make adults who are fans appreciate the nostalgia of being young and discovering Star Wars.
Poe Fucking Dameron.
The author spelled Nien Nunb's name wrong, you know, that weird looking Sullustan that was with Lando Calrissian when they attacked the Death Star in the Millenium Falcon? The author spelled it Nien NUMB. Oh well, it's still a cute story about the different pilots in the Star Wars universe that my son enjoys.
This was the cuttest thing
I was so happy when I found this. I didn’t think that they were making Golden Books any more let alone Star Wars ones. This was a nice walk down memory lane. I would recommend this for any geek/nerd with young children learning to read.
