On The Trail of the Pontiac, Pioneer Boys of the Ohio
This is the first in the The Young Pioneers Series, which tells the story of Bob and Sandy, two young boys growing up in America in a time when self-reliance was absolutely needed to cope with the multitude of dangers surrounding the pioneers of the Ohio and Kentucky border.
The boys were taught that they must always live up to the old Puritan motto, "Trust in the Lord; but keep your powder dry."
This book is steeped in this atmosphere, in those stirring times before the Revolution which gave birth to many a daring soul and several young pioneers whose axes helped to blaze the way of civilization in the then unknown region beyond the Alleghanies,
The Pioneer Boys of the Great Lakes
This is the second volume in The Young Pioneer Series, involving the adventures of two border lads, Bob and Sandy, and their daring deeds in the frontier. The cast also includes the Irish trapper, Pat O'Mara; Kate, the pretty little sister of our two heroes; Blue Jacket, a young Shawanee warrior, destined later to become famous in history; and Simon Kenton, perhaps the best known among the friends of Daniel Boone.
