The Pioneer Boys Series follows the adventures of the pioneer Armstrong boys. They explore the frontiers of America, seeing the varied wilderness and native peoples, and solving mysteries. Along the way, they meet famous real life people. In "The Pioneer Boys in Missouri", the Armstrong boys stay at the camp of Lewis and Clark. Famous frontiersman Daniel Boone also appears in these books

The Pioneer Boy volumes have historic end notes, discussing the real life resilient people of the frontier and their tales.
