This first volume of “Paintings, drawings, Sketches and Tattoos about Dragons” presents some art works from 46 talented artists from the entire world.
The book is divided in 4 sections: Color, Black & Gray, Sketches and Tattoos with a total of 140 published images with 48 in the color section, 26 in the Black & Grey section, 28 in sketches and 38 in tattoos. In every section the artworks are divided by artists, with the name of each one of them, this way you can rapidly consult in the artist index.
All the artworks were printed in high resolution so every artwork look as same as the original. The dragon is a mythological animal that is represented in different ways in different cultures around the world with a diversity of meanings.
However, the most common dragon shape in tattoos is the oriental dragon, most of all, the one from Japanese; culture that has been illustrated for centuries in the paintings of this country. In the Japanese tattoos, the dragon is the main important shape used to compose a tattoo. As a consequence, the dragon shape was spread around the entire world.
Every artist has known how to give their own style and characteristics to this majestic animal, making unique artworks.
It can be seen in this book, dragon shape creations in the traditional Japanese way; occidental designs, some realistic plains and human faces; as some artworks that look like the European mythological dragon.
Depending on the style of every artist, the designs may be traditional, realistic, New School, color, Black & Grey, some styles mixed and some personal styles. In some artworks there will be some dragon shapes alone and in others, in company with other elements and backgrounds for this kind of art works like water, flowers, wind, dragon fishes, etc.
A really interesting feature about this book is that all the artworks process can be seen, which will allow us to improve our comprehension about this complex shapes.
