Hotel Sales and Catering meeting planners don’t really get much in the form of negotiating training, if any at all. There are a lot of books out there to read, seminars you can attend, and audio CD’s you can buy to help train you. However, none of them are geared towards what we do in our industry. I have taken all that I have learned, applied, and experienced in my many years in this business and put together a brief training program on how to negotiate in Hospitality situations, specifically for hotel sales and catering. All of what you see here can be used in any business negotiation setting. I have tried to touch on what I think are the most important ingredients in effective negotiating strategies for sales and catering managers. There is much more to learn out there. I have gleaned the best ideas I have found out there and included them here for you.
