This was interesting. But as I am clueless to the movie and the comics I did not understand much. So I will watch the movie and see if I am interested to continue with the comic.
This issue is supposed to take place in a time jump that occurs in the film, but really doesn't match up very well with the tone of the film either in art style or in the characters presented, so I didn't enjoy it a great deal. I know it was mostly setting up the story, but it really didn't seem like it worked well to me.
This is another of the freebies from Google Play.I watched the Edward Scissorhands movie years ago, and I thought it was so charming, macabre and dark that I watched it several times. I always liked Edward, and thought he was such an innocent, tragic character. When I started this comic book, I was surprised to find this series actually takes place many years after the movie. Kim used to tell her granddaughter stories about Edward, so Megs is intrigued by the man who lives at the top of the hill....
I went with 4 stars because storytelling, this was probably 5 stars. This might finally answer some of the questions that the movie left completely open at the end. I would have gone 3 stars for the artstyle though. It wasn't bad, but it's not my taste of art for a movie that was so bright and beautiful, but this is a different sort of story. The story takes place with Kim's granddaughter, who is an ugly, sulky teen obsessed with her grandmother's past. Meanwhile, Edward finds a creation and star...
Beautifully written. A great continuation of the original story.I was a little disappointed that the artwork didn't match the cover. Despite my disappointment and having to get used to the artistic rendering I loved this comic and found it wonderful.Actual rating 4.5
Even if you hate comics, you'll love this for the art alone. The art is so amazingly beautiful. Makes you dream of a time when your yard had hedges shaped like animals and the like and Edward was afraid of everyone. Ahh the remembrance to two decades ago. No Edward no.... Hes innocent I tells ya
3 stars. This was good. I have forgotten most of the storyline in the movie but this makes me want to watch it again. It was short but quite good. It made me really feel for the characters. I hope it all comes out as one big graphic novel once the story is all done. Definitely a must for fans of the movie!
Me ha gustado mucho ya que la historia Edward El hombre manos de tijeras es mi favorita y saber que en este comoc es la continuación de la historia me hace mucha ilusión.Los dibujos se me hicieron preciosos y muy ligero de leer.
Bad book ever
Cant wait to read the next issue! <3Love it!
Interesting continuation to the movie
This story, in graphic novel format, picks-up many years after where the story in the movie ended. Kimberly has long since died, and her daughter and teenaged granddaughter, Megan, still live in the same town that's convinced that Edward was a monster murderer and Kimberly was insane. Megan doesn't believe either of those things because her grandmother told her the stories about Edward and his gentle spirit and the truth about what happened all those years ago and snoops around to confirm it. Me...
Like the prologue of a prologue! Just enough to introduce you (barely) to new players. Would love to read the rest, but I think I'll wait until I have them all in bulk. Unless you really take the time to appreciate the art of the comic you'll finish in less than 10 minutes. Great if you're a comic book collector, but in those cases of course it's not worth getting the kindle edition. Better to get the full "Parts Unknown" edition with a full 124 pages than the 20-25 page installments.
This beautifully illustrated comic book written by Kate Leth picks up many years after the end of the Tim Burton movie. Eli has shared her stories of the man living in the haunted mansion on the hill with her granddaughter who believes her grandmother. Unfortunately, Eli's daughter thinks her mom was crazy. This is the first comic in a series. Don't miss the illustrations by Drew Rausch.
I loved this, I didn't know I needed an Edward Scissorhands sequel but it turns out I did. It was so cute (in it's own way) and I loved the art style. I'd definitely recommend this to fans of Dark Horse comics, and of course, Tim Burton fans.
