The Batman Adventures Vol. I

The Batman Adventures Vol. I

Martin Pasko
0/5 ( ratings)
The successful 1989 Tim Burton-directed Batman, starring Michael Keaton in the title role, and it's sequel was followed by the September 1992 Batman: The Animated Series on FOX.

Utilizing a straightforward writing style and clean artistic design, this Batman series pits the caped crusader against some of his most classic and dangerous foes. The "dark-Deco" style for the television series and comic were inspired by the Fleisher Studios Superman cartoons of the 1940's. At the helm of this fist series in what would become known as the DC Animated Universe were Paul Dini and Bruce W. Timm from Steven Spielberg's Tiny Toon Adventures.

Originally, The Batman Adventures was just going to be a six-issue mini-series tie-in to Batman: TAS . The success of the book was enough to have the series continue for thirty-six issues, two annuals, two specials, subsequent spin-offs and one-shots as well as two sequel series [The Batman & Robin Adventures and Batman: Gotham Adventures].

In the pages of this collection The Joker enlists the help of the Penguin and Catwoman to bring his dastardly plot to air a televised unmasking of the Batman about. Followed by two more complete storylines-one in which Batman and Robin fight against the Scarecrow's nefarious doings and another in which Bruce Wayne is embroiled in a murder plot.

This book collects issues 1 - 6 of The Batman Adventures.

- Penguin's Big Score
