Pope Alexander III (A.D. 1159 1181)

Pope Alexander III (A.D. 1159 1181)

Cristo Raul
4/5 ( ratings)
Just as Gregory VII had to deal with a man, human only because born from a woman, a monster hungry of absolutism, Henry IV, the fight was continued by Barbarossa, another German, whose crimes were equal to his hero's, the Fourth of the German Henries. The struggle for the converson of the Catholic Church in the Mistress of the German Emperor, just as the Byzantine Emperor had done long time ago with the Greek Church, did not end with the duel to the death between Grehory VII and Henry IV; curiously enough the English Henri II came to the arena claiming for the English Throne the Aturocratarism of the Byzantine Emperor, which finaly the Eight of the Enlgish Henries would conquer, dethroning the Kingdom of God of its Divine King in the name of the Pride of the British. The first Martyr of the Englisg was Thomas of Canterbuty, whose struggle is pictured by Mann with his classic prose.
