I Saw Mommy Eating Santa Claus is a collection of short stories for the festive season. Zombies, werewolves, demons, a private investigator with good reason to hate Christmas and Henry VIII's Spanish Queen all celebrate in their own way.
"It was almost the night before Christmas. My daughter would get her Candy Bears play set tomorrow, even if I had to kill every last damned zombie in Cardiff to get back to her."
The title story is set in Cardiff where one man's quest to get this year's must have toy is far more important than any zombie apocalypse. It was first published in the print anthology: Christmas is dead ... again, 2010, Living Dead Press, and appears again in another collection - "Putting on a Grave Face". The latter is available on Kindle.
The second story: Queen Catherine's Christmas Bargain" is historical flash fiction. Still mourning her dead son, Catherine of Aragon has a strange visitor during the Christmas feast of 1512. She makes a bargain and a great sacrifice, but considers the price worth paying.
The private detective in Summoning Stone has good reason to hate Christmas. It brings back unpleasant memories. December 24th, 2003, was the date he began to believe he was not cut out for demon hunting.
Mistletoe under a Midwinter Moon is included as a bonus story. On the Mid-Winter Solstice, a young girl learns the importance of family. All she wanted for Christmas was a better pair of boxing gloves - she never asked for fangs.
