I'm really drawn to Lorna Simpson's work. It's mostly photography and photographic installations with some film and sculpture thrown in. She is most known for her work on race and women (though when she tried other genres she was attacked for not working on African-American women; so go figure). Her work can be admirably ambiguous (which I really admire, something with which I'm not too strong) but still effectively political. Her work is beautiful and this book displays it well.
