Not a story about a hero; there is no outstanding heroism, to read these stories like that would be a mistake. These guys mostly do it because it's their job, and most of them hoped to make a difference; and of course many became cynical, washed up, damaged, hateful and lovable.Just professionals of an occupation.You have to feel for these guys, just as much as you feel for the victims, and in the end, almost as much as you might for the 'perpetrators', sick as they are...Do you like reading abo...
Good ReadI must say this was a good read.However, where was the proofreading done and at what time of day/night ??? Way TOO MANY errors not caught.Toward the end of book there was some unnecessary conversation.just totally random...Basically this was written like a true police story and though I saw where it would lead was nonetheless hard.Keep writing!!!
This book is different because the police officers seem to be real people. SPOILER: I have to say again that I don't like books where I know who the bad guys are from the start and the sexual sicko was just too creepy for me.
Zairo is always an exciting read! Couldn't put this book down although I really felt disappointed that the end wasn't what I wanted. The characters were so true to life.
I learned from this book that I expect something positive to come out of books that I read. Not here; things go from bad to worse and isn't that swell. The writing is fine except using proper tense, plural vs. singular, articles are at times as if written in someone's second language. If you enjoy endings like mistakes were made so everyone dies, then this book might be for you. Oh, and not necessarily mistakes by those who got the blame. You know, kind of like real life on bad days. Not my cup

I forgot about this book on my kindle. Glad I picked it up again but it is a book written from experience and shows the tragedy police deal with every day.
Very good police procedural with a strong Ed McBain vibe. The story is pretty straightforward--a 6 year-old girl is snatched from the streets, and in lean short chapters, the book follows different police officer in their search for her. This is a very subtle and emotionally charged book, and I highly recommend it.

Totally Spellbinding reading! I totally enjoyed this book. Everything about it was captivating and I found it hard to stop reading. I Liked the character interaction. Sometimes you had the feeling you were right in the story. Fully recommend reading this book.
Excellent Read!I was captured from the first chapter. The dialogue was good, the characters were as if I could see them. I highly recommend this! CAUTION: CHILD SEXUAL ABUSE. This is a real portrayal of what happens to children who are abused.
SickoThere are sickos in this cruel world but there are lots of good guys too. All humans make mistakes, but everyone wants to blame them like they should have been perfect. Even heroes aren't perfect.
Heavy StuffBook blew my mind. With BLM going on , and George Floyd and Chauvin's trial, this book brought home to me the gritty reality going on within the police. Like going to work and being insulted every way possible, but expected to perform your job like an angel. And when the failure to search the house has it's result, my God. What a world we live in. The book smacks of experience.
An interesting story a with sad endingThe story takes you from the initial capture of Amy through her dying to the final capture of the two criminals and all the suffering of the various police officers.
