More like 4 1/2 stars. Ahhhhh!! Did this book ever play with my emotions! Every single one! Even though I'm still mad at Abigail for what she did (and her mom) I deducted half star for her being a ninny lol. At the end, gotta love a book that tugs on every emotion, plus Wade was TO DIE FOR! And a romantic ending, to boot :)
I loved the storyline!! Abigail works for a magazine and is dealing with some health issues. Her doctor, her sister, orders her to take some time off and her mother sends her to Montana to check on a great-aunt for the summer. Abigail meets a cute 11 year old girl, Maddy, and somehow becomes her nanny. Wade, Maddy's father, is a rancher and has been widowed for a few years. He likes seclusion and has closed his heart off. But when sparks start to fly, can he keep things that way?Abigail is a ver...
Cute! Now I wanna go vacation in Montana🙂.
This was my first book by Denise Hunter And I really, really liked it! Abigail was a sweetheart, and Wade was a hot, mysterious cowboy. I totally got wrapped up in the story and stayed up way too late reading. At one point I wanted to stop reading because (view spoiler)[ I just couldn't handle it if Abigail screwed their relationship up by writing that article!! I wanted them to work out so badly!!! (hide spoiler)] But it turned out ok. ;)Super sweet and I'm looking forward to reading more in t...
Denise Hunter has such a beautiful way of incorporating elements of faith, romance, and intrigue into her stories. I have walked away from each of her books with a new sense of hope that I haven’t been able to find in many other works. A Cowboy’s Touch is no exception with a hero and heroine the reader can grow with, an inspiring journey, and a peaceful setting that makes the reader feel at home. This is a wonderfully written story that will tug at your heartstrings in the best way. 4.5/5 stars
Denise doesn't know how to write books that don't captivate me. Not sure what I'll do when I catch up reading all her backlisted titles while waiting on the newest publications. Each is so easy to picture in my head. Mental health is also something hard to write about, not just for the person suffering but also for those close by. The grief process looks so different for everyone, I can't imagine trying to grieve in the limelight.
This is a delightful story. From the moment Abigail Jones, the heroine, decides J. W. "Wade" Ryan, the swoon worthy hero, is a possible murderer, she jumps from one wrong conclusion to another. Add to it her perceived guilt from a childhood incident and his guilt over his wife's death and you end up with a story about finding forgiveness. A Cowboy's Touch is a clean, Christian romance Denise Hunter executes very well.
This was an excellent book! Really enjoyed it, it kept me on the edge of my seat!
Really good!
.This was an excellent specimen of historical - western - Christian - romance. Accolades to the author for a job well done!It was clean, is able to stand on its own, and concludes with a fabulous H.E.A.
I really enjoyed this touching story. The Montana setting is just perfect and I love how the story speaks to the hearts of both Abigail and Wade, bringing up much more of the spiritual side of them both rather than just the physical, fleeting parts of romance. Wade's past hurts, Abigail's current health concerns, and Wade's sweet daughter Maddy who provides a connection for the both of them, gives this story a sense of realness. Although, a hunky, thoughtful cowboy as the main love interest sure...
A Cowboy’s Touch is the first book in Denise Hunter’s A Big Sky Romance series, but definitely isn’t the first book I have ever read by her. I am a HUGE fan of Denise’s, and have been for quite some time, so I was excited to be able to continue reading more of her books. When I found I had some extra time to read whatever I wanted, I knew I absolutely had to read this series. So, I added it into my blog schedule, and next thing you know, I’m reading this book! And, just like I expected, this boo...
Don't be deterred by the rating: Denise Hunter is a talented author. I have read the second book in this series and it was enjoyable. A Cowboy's Touch on the other hand...Abigail is a city-dwelling workaholic reporter who is suffering from hypertension. Her mom/boss decides that what she needs is some time off, so she sends her to the country for three months and orders her not to do any work while she is there. Abigail is staying with her great aunt, who is either suffering from early stages of...
**2.5-3 stars**A Cowboy's Touch is about Abigail and Wade. Abigail is an overstressed work-a-holic who was sent on three months vacation by her mother to visit her great Aunt. While there Abigail meets Wade's daughter and get's roped into being her nanny for the summer. But when she meets Wade for the first time she feels a spark of attraction that she hasn't felt in a long time. Wade was once a famous cowboy but after the tragedy and suspicion following his wife's death he moved himself and his...
I’m a huge Denise Hunter fan, and I enjoyed the cowboy angle to this story, as well as the single father trope. I can tell that Denise Hunter’s writing has developed and deepened over the years and that this series is an earlier work of fiction for her. A Cowboy’s Touch is a sweet story and a quick read, but it is predictable and fairly cliched. The main female character is naive in her thinking, though she has a good intentions. The male character is quick to anger and even quicker to forgive.
I’ve been needing a nice light romance and the last one I tried wasn’t as light as I wanted. This one is light and Hallmark-y without being stupid or inane. I really enjoyed Abigail and Maddy’s growing relationship in particular.Only downside: I disliked that they were the only adults in the house alone even after becoming strongly attracted to each other.
“A Cowboy’s Touch” is romantic, heartwarming, touching and packs a message sure to reach the heart and soothe the spirit. The angle of the story was a great way to start the book, when Abigail needs peace and quiet to ease her hypertension. And—ahem—I think she found a pretty good way to do that. *smile*Wade is a hunky cowboy with a big heart—and a lot of problems. I loved that this novel went beyond the superficial romance and really delved into the spiritual aspect of both Abigail and Wade’s li...
I enjoyed this one. I liked Abigail and while I cringed a little about her decision to write a story about Wade, I did like the way thing wrapped up. I actually would have liked it we could have seen the fall out a little more and what happens when everyone finds out who Wade really is. Did it really help the town? How was his privacy effected? Stuff like that. Anyway, I liked the relationship between Abby and Wade, I kind of wish the romance had been turned up a tad. But, overall its a nice sto...
A very good contemporary romance. I will admit that I felt like screaming, " Don't do it Abby," for the majority of the read though. Thankfully, the ending was heartwarming and brought the drama to a happy end. I would recommend this to readers who enjoy a good romance and those who love a good cowboy story.
This was my very first Denise Hunter book! Loved it!
