The Leviathan and the Whirlwind

The Leviathan and the Whirlwind

Mike Martin
0/5 ( ratings)
This Pacific Northwest, historical fiction begins in the 1920s and reaches into the present age. Follow the lives of Charmaine's descendants as they build their future in the Land of Giants and face the obstacles that time, nature, and men put in front of them. An individual's ancestry means very little in comparison to the type of person they choose to become. The same applies to cities and nations. What promises will the future really deliver to the inhabitants of this region? Will it provide a paradise on earth or something altogether different? Charmaine's grandson, Gautier, feels the stirrings to discover his own path and better comprehend the world of his Nana and his Native American Ancestors. Over time, he crosses paths with his good friend Viho, his Hawaiian-Filipino wife Moani, and a mountain lion called Kitty. Renamed "Wind Shadow" by Viho, Gautier faces many obstacles that include the Great Depression, the Tillamook Burn, and World War II. Nation building and survival test his very mettle. How then will Wind Shadow engage his greatest foe- a man who challenges his values and threatens to destroy the family from the inside out?
