Speech Index: An Index to Collections of World Famous Orations and Speeches for Various Occasions: Fourth Edition Supplement, 1966-1970

Speech Index: An Index to Collections of World Famous Orations and Speeches for Various Occasions: Fourth Edition Supplement, 1966-1970

0/5 ( ratings)
The purpose of this supplement, like the other editions of the "Speech Index," is to serve as a quick guide to speeches by famous orators, and to types of speeches. The amateur club, business, or civic leader is ever seeking suggestions on how to welcome or introduce speakers, how to respond when called upon to talk before an audience, or how to install officers or to pay tribute, and therefore desires models he can adapt to suit his needs. The academic student seeks speeches by well-known orators which exemplify the basic types of speeches, while the adult taking a course in public speaking requires subject literature in speech form for class recitation. This supplement includes 58 titles, the majority of them published between January 1966 and December 1970, with a few published too late in 1965 to have been included in the revised and enlarged 4th edition of the “Speech Index.” At the end of this volume there is a Selected List of Titles with an explanation as to its purpose and use.
